The bank increases number of branches offering consultations on retired lives to 850 to get bigger piece of the market

KB Kookmin Bank has been out to secure a larger share of the retirement fund market by expanding the number of its branches offering retirement consultations to 850 around the country.
Any customer who wants to set up his or her plans for retired life can visit one of those branches and consult an officer in charge at the VIP lounge, which has been prepared for those customers, the bank said while announcing the plan.
The bank train around 1,000 of its asset management staff on designing retirement plans so some of them may obtain certificates as professional counselors for retirement ¡°life designing,¡± the bank said.
To help retirees or those who are about to retire, the bank printed guidebooks on retired life and the need for preparation for anyone who wants them.
The bank also has been running a system under which customers can get the bank¡¯s decision to provide them with loans to help finance their retired lives.
Manager Shin Jong-kook of the KB Golden Life Support Department said the ultimate purpose of the retired life consultation is to boost the value of retired life for customers, not just stopping at being a financial product with the concerns for retired lives and their values rising ever higher these days.
The bank will soon come up with a highly developed retired life designing system and a package of financial products combining bank, credit card and life insurance that is tailor-made for the needs of customers.
A ceremony took place at the bank¡¯s Yeouido Head office to hang the name board for the retired life designing consultation room, with Chairman Yoon Jong-kyoo and President Kim Jeong-ki of WM Group among the participants at the ceremony.
