Korea Industry Fair (KIF) 2015 will be a combination of Korea Machinery Fair 2015 (KOMAF 2015); Tool Tech 2015; Korea 2015 Metal Week; and Robot World 2015 that will bring together leading machinery companies at the Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX), north of Seoul, from Oct. 28 to 31. 

KIF 2015, which will be hosted by the Korea Association of Machinery Industry (KOAMI), has established itself as one of Asia¡¯s largest machinery fairs that covers machineries, machine tools, metal/machinery and robots with the goal of becoming the Korean version of the world¡¯s largest international fair, Hannover Messe. 

Kim Yong-guk, head of the KOAMI¡¯s Business Division, said, ¡°KIF 2015 dated back to the Korea Machinery Fair that made its debut on the first floor of the KOAMI Building in 1977.¡± ¡°For the past 38 years, the fair has introduced and spread the latest Korean and foreign technologies and prominent machineries as well as accelerated the development of the Korean machinery industry through mutual information exchanges,¡± said Kim, adding that the fair has did a good job in improving quality, developing new products, enhancing technology competitiveness and exploring foreign markets. 

KIF 2015, the 3rd rendition, will be held at KINTEX¡¯s five exhibition halls. The Special Pavilion for Smart Factory will be set up during the fair in keeping with the government¡¯s Manufacturing Innovation 3.0 Initiative. The pavilion will showcase manufacturing innovation solutions through convergence of machineries and ICT. German companies, including Siemens, will display exemplary exhibits of Germany¡¯s Industry 4.0, so that Korean companies can take a cue from German smart factories and explore future courses of the Korean manufacturing industry, Kim said. 

In addition, KIF 2015 will coincide with side events making exhibitors and spectators alike appealing and worthwhile and offer diverse services. A telemarketing center is being operated to attract Korean buyers, and one-on-one services will be offered to match beforehand registered buyers and exhibitors. 

KOAMI will ramp up support to invite foreign buyers, and preparations for their touring of exhibitions and factories, and other events have been finished. 

Drones, which have become the subject of much discussion in the industry, will be displayed during KOMAF 2015 for the first time in Korea, which is sure to attract the attention of many people. 

A special pavilion for IT, convergence and 3D printing, which has attracted public attention these days, will be also held to show the latest trends. 

KOAMI and KOTRA will hold a session to hold negotiations on the purchase of Korean-made machineries by inviting buyers from 100 countries. 

Specifically, KOMAF 2015 is divided into 12 specialized categories: motion control and factory automation; machine tools; pneumatic and hydraulic technology; testing and measurement; parts and materials; plastic and rubber technology; industrial plants and equipment; heavy electrical equipment; environment technology; air-conditioning and refrigeration technology; transport; cargo and logistics; nuclear power equipment; and foreign pavilion.

As the best machinery fair in Korea, KOMAF 2015 brings together the leading machinery companies in one location and makes it easy for exhibitors to promote their new products and examine innovative technologies.
