"Preview in Seoul (PIS) 2015¡± will open for a three-day run on Sept. 2 at COEX in Seoul. The exhibition, launched in 2000, is the nation¡¯s representative textile fair and is noted for boosting Korea¡¯s textile exports and domestic sales.
A total of 108 exhibitors from nine countries will participate in the textile trade fair, the 16th rendition.
Around 80 of China¡¯s chemical fiber companies, including Shenghong Corporation and Hengli, will join the exhibition, aiming to establish a bridgehead before the effectuation of the Korea-China Free Trade Agreement. In Thailand, 11 enterprises including Everest Textile plan to participate in attempt to target Korea¡¯s domestic outdoor market. Above this, influential textile companies from Japan, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Thailand and Singapore also set the exhibition.
Hyosung and Huvis, renowned companies in the yarn business field, will participate in the exhibition for the second year in a row. They will collaborate with cooperative fabric companies by introducing a variety of new fabric in large-scale booths.
Youngwon, one of the largest outdoor manufacturing companies in the country, will join PIS and display outdoor clothing produced with high-functional and highly-sensitive fabric. Dupont Korea will also participate in the exhibition by introducing its own industrial fabric (aramid fiber, felt) being transformed into fashion fabric.
Middle standing enterprises that are widely recognized in the global market, such as Youngtextile, Shin Heung, Young Poong Filltex, Ducksan Enterprise, Sungmin Enterprise and Texland & Nexco will also take part in PIS 2015, adding diversity to exhibition items with newly joined companies.
As the registration has become finalized, Korea Federation of Textile Industries (KOFOTI) is making a full commitment to invite potential domestic/foreign buyers and to prepare fruitful events. To attract foreign buyers with purchasing power and brand name, KOFOTI directly contacted global brand sourcing managers from the U.S., Europe, China and Hong Kong to arrange preliminary meetings between participants and buyers in the newly built Business Meeting Lounge. For invited buyers, KOFOTI also offers tour program to domestic fiber companies and nighttime attractions in Korea.
To attract domestic buyers, KOFOTI sends online newsletters to mangers of renowned fashion and export enterprises, continuously offering a wide range of PIS news and information. Moreover, KOFOTI plans to invite experts in new technology, fabric and fashion trends, to arrange demand side-centered unit events, creating a synergy effect with the exhibition.
The upcoming textile fair will have as its main concept ¡°Homing,¡± suggesting a focus on enhancing lives and values through inspiration from the Nature.
PIS 2015 will have exhibitors in such areas as yarn, fabrics, knits, findings/trims, DTP and apparel.
New global trends will be highlighted through the Trend Forum on functional and eco-textiles. Buyers will be given opportunities to explore the future availability of diverse materials at the Trend Forum pavilion in which diverse materials and the latest trends will be displayed. It will be a pavilion of proprietary materials of excellent products and regionally-specialized materials.
PIS 2015 will coincide with a variety of events, including one-on-one meetings between exhibitors and buyers. There will be expert seminars on Korean and foreign fashion trends.
PIS 2014, which took place at COEX last Sept. 3-5, attracted 307 exhibitors and more than 10,000 visitors from 31 countries, according to figures compiled by KOFOTI.
