Kookmin Bank held the KB Good Job Expo at Coex in Seoul with some 250 large companies and organizations participating, including Korea International Trade Association, Korea Industrial Technology Promotion Association and Korea Women Scientific Technology Support Center, member firms of those associations and large firms registered with the Korea Exchange.
In his speech, KB Financial Group Chairman and Kookmin Bank President Yoon Jong-kyoo said KB Financial Group will do its part to make a society where people are happy by finding jobs for young people, adding that the group will show off a model for socially responsible enterprise with its social contribution activities.
In a speech, Vice Minister Kim Jae-choon of the Ministry of Education said the event is the first step in making itself significant to business firms and those who want to find jobs to prove that society is centered on the ability to hire new employees — not necessarily based on their educational background and specifications.
The KB Good Job Expo is a ¡°happy job festival¡± to create a framework for people¡¯s happiness in the country and the Creative Economy, with job categories divided by business sectors such as trades, engineering, women-scientific technology, among others. The expo also had a number of booths for the business firms listed on the Korea Exchange and Kosdaq, the cooperative firms with large business firms designed to expand the cooperation between SMEs and large corporations.
The job experience booth was useful for seekers to learn what it¡¯s like to work as a salesman, office clerk and at international trade and auto companies, for example, so they could choose the jobs they want. The organizer of the expo also had the job seekers to decide what kinds of jobs they truly want. Booths included the Career Consulting Booth and the Job Creation Inspection Booth, where tailor-made job guidelines were accessible.
