NH Investment and Securities is ready to cope with the age of the Fintech. By launching a smartphone mobile direct payment settlement system, it has its own payment settlement service. Anyone who has an investment account with NH Investment and Securities has been able to make payments with their smartphone at convenience stores, movie theaters, coffee shops and other places without using credit cards.
The upper limit for payments at those places is 300,000 won, which can be withdrawn out of accounts at NH Investment and Securities (NHIS) automatically. The businesses that accept the smartphone payments from NHIS accounts are varied. They include the convenience store chains GS 25, CU, Mini Stop, as well as Kyobo Bookstore, InterPark Books, Bandi and Lunis, CGV, Lotte Cinema and Coffee Bean.
With rising fraud associated with the fast-expanding technology, various preventative measures have been taken to ensure their safety. NHIS has a number of services to prevent funds illegally withdrawn from accounts, and credit cards used without authorization. The securities firm reimburses consumers who lost money from their accounts a maximum of 3 million won for unauthorized withdrawals. Applications for reimbursement can be made through the company¡¯s homepage and a smartphone application. The provision period for such service is one year and its limited to 30,000 persons. It¡¯s a first-come and first-service system of fighting fraud.
The company developed the system to limit damages from the payment settlement system. NHIS officials said the company not only has been at work to make the system convenient, but also allay any damages for consumers. The company has also been working to expand the mobile platform service by expanding the information on the company¡¯s homepage, HTS and the mobile platform application. When the mobile platform service is expanded, account holders can get asset management service from the company that is equal to those provided to large asset owners.
Deputy Manager Lee of the Smart Planning Department said the company plans to expand the mobile platform service to the extent that investors don¡¯t have to visit branches to get information on investments. The platform will contain information on investments so users can evaluate their investments easily.
