KEPCO KPS has discussed how to translate into action its medium-term strategic management plan, dubbed ¡°New & Best 2016.¡±

KEPCO KPS President Choi Yeu-geun, executives, heads of KEPCO KPS divisions and offices, and chiefs of power complexes across the nation got together at the KEPCO KPS headquarters in Naju from Feb. 3 to 4 to hold a workshop on the successful implementation of New & Best 2016, realizing the ¡°Accident Zero¡± initiative and a stable supply of power.

The first session began on Feb. 3 with Chung Ui-heon, head of KEPCO KPS Business Management Headquarter, explaining the 2015 management conditions, and next came the Power Business and New Growth headquarters¡¯ discussions on how to realize New & Best 2016.

On the second day, participants pledged to live up to the ¡°Accident Zero¡± initiative and the Planning Division conducted a 2014 overall management analysis. Each division announced its 2015 business plan and the outcome of what they discussed during the previous day.

In his speech at the event, KEPCO KPS President Choi said, ¡°This workshop is designed to explore innovative ideas necessary for continuously boosting sales for the realizing of New & Best 2016 and Vision 2020 as well as ways of strengthening growth potential.¡±

¡°We should get back to basics to wisely overcome management conditions that change rapidly beyond our expectations,¡± Choi said. ¡°We have to have and conduct attributes and behaviors suiting the dignity of executives and staff members of a public entity in everything ranging from daily life to work, and we should take the initiative in technology development, manpower development, living up to ethic management as a public enterprise and translating into action social responsibilities.¡±

Last February, KEPCO KPS declared its new vision ¡°Creative Leader Offering World¡®s Premier Plant Maintenance Services¡± and announced the New & Best 2016 initiative.

With the first such workshop, KEPCO KPS plans to devote itself to realizing New & Best 2016 by boosting sales.

¡°We have to further solidify our core capabilities as a quality and technology-based company to survive in an era of low growth with a swirl of crisis and recession,¡± said Choi in his New Year¡¯s message.

Most economists forecast that the global economy will be sluggish this for the second year in a row, he said. Competition will heat up in the limited foreign and Korean power maintenance markets, he added.

Choi called for his executives and staff members to devote themselves to realizing the new vision of being a creative leader, offering the world¡¯s premier plant maintenance services.
