KOLPHAS President Cho Gyu-dam
Korea Livestock Products HACCP Accreditation Service (KOLPHAS) devotes itself to securing the sanitation and safety of food products by taking a thorough look at and getting rid of hazards at all production stages, ranging from production of livestock products at the farm to people¡¯s dinner table via distribution channels.
¡°We at KOLPHAS strive to enhance the quality of certification examination and ex post facto management of businesses with HACCP certificates to improve safety management of livestock products,¡± said KOLPHAS President Cho Gyu-dam.
To this end, inspectors¡¯ capacity and expertise will be upgraded, and inspectors will be designated to specific businesses to satisfy client companies¡¯ needs. KOLPHAS plans to beef up ex post facto management and monitoring via telephone to enhance client companies¡¯ accreditation availability standards.
¡°Thorough prevention is the most important and easy method designed to ensure the safety of food products,¡± KOLPHAS President Cho said.
Last June 18, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) announced steps to overhaul a system of controlling food poisonings related to school cafeteria food, including the introduction of the One-strike Out system in which businesses certified with HACCP found to violate any major safety management guidelines as ¡°unsterilized¡± have their HACCP certification revoked.
