Samsung C&T Co. won a project in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to build the highest skyscraper named as the Star Residence in the capital city of the S.E, Asian nation on Nov. 19, the company said recently.
The two commercial and residential structures both 265 meter tall with 58 floors and one building 251 meters high with 57 floors are targeted to be completed in 2019 at the cost of 330 billion won, which is the second skyscraper in Malaysia that Samsung Construction will build following the Petronas Twin Tower 452 meters tall the company completed in 1999, which was the highest building in the world then, the company said. Samsung C&T is the sole company involved with the project involved with the construction of the tallest residential structure in Malaysia, located in the heart of commercial and business districts in Kuala Lumpur with luxury apartments including small ones to make them easier to sell.
Alpine Return, a special purpose company set up by UM Land and Symphony Life on a 50-50 basis, is the owner of the project.
