Shinkwang Eco Road E&C Co. CEO Kim Hak-ryul won the Organization Award for setting all kinds of new records in the construction of soundproof facilities in tunnels on new highways at the 23rd Road Day ceremony held at the K-Seoul Hotel in Seoul on July 7.

Shinkwang Eco Road E&C CEO Kim Hak-ryul has won an 

organization award at the 23rd Road Day anniversary event. 

The workers and staff of the company have become role models for their superb work in the creation of environmentally-friendly green scenery in soundproof facilities in tunnels in the Seoul Outer Circulatory Expressway, cutting off any sounds perfectly to give the tunnels a pleasurable environment.

The citation accompanying the award noted that Shinkwang Eco Road has completed excellent tunnel-type soundproof facilities by perfectly cutting off noise to create environmentally-friendly scenery to make a pleasurable residential environment for the residents in the Seongnam-Pankyo Residential Complex.

In particular their work was completely satisfactory considering the precision of work required for the diagonal and horizontal lines of the topographical conditions of the site, the letter noted.

Following are details of the soundproof system for the 1.6 km long Seoul Outer Circulatory Expressway.

Purpose: The soundproof system was installed to maintain pleasurable residential conditions  in the residential areas around the circulatory expressway including the Seongnam-Pankyo Residential Complex.

Name of the Project: Seoul Outer Circulatory Expressway 1.6 km Tunnel-type Soundproof Installation Project

Scale of the Project: Length: 600 meters. Width: 41.8 meters. The largest soundproof tunnel in the country

Construction Period: Nov. 30, 2010-Sept. 13, 2012

Builder: Korea Expressway Corp.

Major Installations: A horseshoe-shaped soundproof tunnel with a diagonal line beauty

Key Material: H-beam

Soundproof Material: Transparent sound-soaking and color curb-type soaking material

Round color sound absorption system and transparent soundproof pipes

Shinkwang Eco Road E&C has earned fame for the construction of soundproof facilities on new expressways.

Internal Air Circulation: Soaking rubber installed for air circulation and to prevent sound from leaking

CEO Kim said the awards Shinkwang won from the prime minister of Korea as an outstanding highway constructor, from the President of Korea Train Express for the company’s outstanding performance with the Gyeongbu Expressway Rail, from the President of Daewoo E&C as an outstanding partner, and from the superintendent of Dongdaemun Tax Office as an exemplary taxpayer have been the outcome of their efforts for greater success.
