Samsung Life Insurance Co. held a meeting for its more than 1,000 branch managers across the country at Kintex in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province, on Jan. 25 to discuss strategies for this year, the company said recently.
President Kim Chang-soo of Samsung Life Insurance Co. delivers his opening speech at the
branch managers meeting of his company on Jan. 25 at Kintex in northern Seoul.
President Kim Chang-soo led the gathering that included all of the branch managers, regional heads, and executives at the head office, — around 1,200 participants altogether — to take up such pertinent issues as low interest rates, difficult operating conditions for life insurers, and measures to overcome them, and to discuss various problems that regional branches are faced with and share the know-how for managing those branches.
It was the first time in Samsung Life¡¯s history that it had all of its branch managers in one place for a meeting to jointly discuss strategies and the problems being faced by branch managers and financial consultants and to make sure that the strategies discussed and decided at the meeting will be enforced this year.
President Kim, in his speech, said the failure or success of a company depends on the customers¡¯ selection.
The meeting, divided into two major sessions — sharing data and information, and the reconfirmation session — took up such matters as expanding corporate value through qualitative growth and the measures needed to move the company in that direction.
At the session for reconfirming the need to push the strategies drawn up at the gathering, branch managers and financial consultants directly explained their operational experiences to others in the company and the measures they have been taking to meet their goals under the ¡°100 Years of Promise and 100 Years of Guarantee¡± campaign so that every participant at the rare gathering would know what they meant.
Financial consultant Suh Jeong-min of the Ankuk Branch in Seoul not only stressed the importance of sharing information, but also the roles of branch managers in general, saying that they should provide information and know-how for the financial consultants to use when meeting with customers.
The reconfirmation session was devoted to reconfirming every participant¡¯s intention to push the company¡¯s managerial objectives for this year and encourage them to do so.
They said they should go back to the basics of management whenever faced with tough operational problems and take a deep look into the minds of the customers and do everything to satisfy them, however trivial it may be, in order to overcome any problem, they emphasized.
At the meeting, Samsung Life made the ¡°100 Years of Promise, 100 Years of Guarantee¡± campaign official from this month to be ready for the era of people living to be 100 years old by strengthening customer service.
The campaign is designed to ensure that a golden balance is attained during the customer¡¯s entire life in the areas of guarantees and financial functions so that they will always be able to secure the financing they need through integrated financial consulting provided by the financial consultants of Samsung Life under the program.
Samsung Life will introduce various ads and events in which customers can participate to help them understand what all the campaign is about through a ¡°golden file¡± provided to the customers to boost the results of the campaign, the company said.
