Shinhan Card Co., which won the Gold Award in the credit finance sector of the 23rd Dasan Financial Award in 2013, is the largest credit card company in Korea with over 22 million card holders and, therefore, the company leads all others in the industry in the number of commodities and services.

The company was the first to introduce the electronic wallet, “Smart Wallet,” and “Shinhan App Card,” a mobile application type card, and the nation’s first credit card in Braille for the blind which have become standards in the industry.

The company introduced the Six Sigma Card in 2008, and until last year the company had over 1,300 programs to reform its marketing strategies to boost its customer satisfaction points, among many other marketing gimmicks.

In order to keep its leading position in the industry, the company recently declared its new brand slogan, “Big to Great,” which the company said means it will become a company respected by the people for its services as the largest credit card company in Korea.

In December, the company opened its big data center for the first time in the industry with an aim to provide tailor-made products and services to its customers. Social service is another part of its major business and the company provides financial support to the public libraries in Korea under a program called “Arum People’s Library,” as well as financing for youth education.
