President Chang Myung-chul of Hyundai Wia Co. won the Industrial Merit Silver Tower Medal at the 50th Trade Day ceremony on Dec. 5 for his company being a key supplier of engines and transmissions for both Hyundai and Kia automakers supporting their stable growth for the past several decades and also being a supplier of key auto components to GM of the United States and their auto plants all over the world including Mexico, India, Poland, and Australia.Hyundai Wia's total exports amounted to $3.1 billion, up 15 percent YoY this year which helped President Chang to win the coveted medal. Presdient Cahng drove hard to achieve the company's objective to be counted among the top 20 business firms in Korea by 2020 by achieving its annual sales to reach 20 trillion won. Hyundai Wia built its gloval management network by producing top global auto parts.
Since 2012 the company has been supplying to Cosma Co., one of the largest auto parts makers in the world. They specialize in auto parts based on progressive press line, tandem press line, and hot forming press line to have the quality of its auto parts recognized all over the world.
Hyundai Wia expects to widen its supply of auto parts, having been a supplier of auto parts to Cosma for auto companies in the United States, Mexico, Brazil, India, China, and Russia through a concentration of its marketing efforts and the potential of those nations to import more auto parts from overseas makers such as Hyundai Wia.
The company has also been producing and supplying such plant equipment as loading and unloading equipment, steel production facilities, iron production facilities, pressing equipment, environment facilities, and other plant equipment having won global recognition for its appropriate prices and qualities, especially in Japan, Southeast Asia, and Brazil.
The company has been known for its exports of environmental equipment that cleanses NOx and SOx, as well as other toxic gases through a secondary production process to open the second chapter in the plant business.
In the case of steel plants, the company¡¯s position has been heightened as domestic steel-making companies have reduced or closed some plants since the foreign exchange crisis of 1997 so much so that the company has been expanding its steel-making plant to the production of machinery, electric equipment design, manufacturing and installation with the idea of becoming an integrated engineering firm.
In cooperation with first-class global steel engineering firms that supply raw materials for steel and steel production equipment, the company was able to join them as a global steel plant equipment supplier and is now trying to produce and supply power generation equipment after securing ASME certification in the United States.
