KB Financial Group operated the Global Demo Day Program in Singapore for two days from Aug. 26 to 27 in collaboration with the KOSME¡¯s K-Startup Center Singapore to support Korean startups¡¯ business expansion and investment attraction.
It was the second time that KB Financial Group and KSC Singapore jointly held the Demo Day Event in Singapore, following last year.
In addition to the existing Demo Day, this year¡¯s new programs were prepared to allow participating companies to directly examine the local market and investment environment and broaden business cooperation possibilities, including a Meet-up program for networking with stakeholders in local startup ecosystems and visits to key institutions.
A total of 12 startups nurtured by both organizations participated in the program, including seven KB Starters companies selected by KB Financial Group in May.
The participating startups visited key local institutions in Singapore including TechX Ventures (a subsidiary of the Home Team Science and Technology Agency (HTX)), the Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE).SG), The GEAR (Kajima¡¯s Open Innovation Center of Japan) and Temasek Polytechnic.
They discussed local commercialization possibilities with representatives from each institution and sought investment opportunities through customized one-on-one meetings with Southeast Asian and global venture capital firms.
On Aug. 27, Global IR Day was held at WeWork Singapore Collyer Quay operated by KB Financial Group.
