Korea Investment & Securities (KIS) invited executives from global asset management companies to discuss cooperation measures to expand the supply of investment products.
KIS announced on June 21 that it held the Global Asset Management CEO Invitation Event for representatives and key executives from 13 global asset management companies at 63 Building in Yeouido, Seoul on June 19.
The event was attended by the heads of Korean and Asian offices of Carlyle, JP Morgan, Man Group, Fidelity, among others.
Attendees shared insights on changes in the global investment market and asset allocation trends, and discussed ways to identify and expand the supply of overseas investment products suitable for Korean investors.
¡°To provide new investment opportunities to our customers, it is crucial to be the first to catch trends in the global market and proactively secure excellent investment products.¡± said Kim Sung-hwan, president of KIS.
¡°We will continue to strengthen strategic cooperation with global asset management companies to ensure that Korean investors have access to a wide array of investment opportunities.¡±
Program to Help Youths in Starting Businesses
KIS announced on June 22 that it held the Dream Sherpa Camp for the First Class of the Korea Investment Dream Sherpa Program which supports young people to better start as small business owners.
Korea Investment Dream Sherpa is a program designed to support young people preparing for independence in concretizing their startup ideas and developing their capabilities for actual business execution.
Five selected teams of young adults preparing for independence participated in this camp which ran for two days from June 19 to 20.
The camp was designed to help participants develop their startup ideas into feasible plans and to enhance their basic competencies and confidence required to execute projects.
In particular, it focused on helping the participants concretize their project goals and visions.
Through workshops, the participants reviewed their ideas, drafted implementation plans necessary for commercialization processes and refined the direction of subsequent projects.
A special lecture by an employee of KIS was also organized as a talent donation. In a lecture titled ¡°Basic Tax Knowledge for New Small Business Owners,¡± delivered by Kim Seo-young, a tax accountant in the GWM Consulting Department at KIS, the tax account clearly conveyed basic tax knowledge required in the early stages of starting a business and points to note during business operations.
Hosting First Korea-China Investment Forum with Guotai Haitong
Korea Investment & Securities will expand capital market exchanges between the two countries by hosting the nation¡¯s first large-scale Korea-China Investment Strategy Forum in collaboration with Guotai Haitong Securities, a leading Chinese securities firm.
KIS announced on June 16 that it will host the ¡°Korea-China Investment Strategy Forum¡± with Guotai Haitong Securities from June 15 to 17.
For this event, executives and analysts from Guotai Haitong Securities, along with representatives from major Chinese companies and institutional investors, will visit Korea to share market outlooks and investment strategies with Korean investors.
The forum will feature presentations on investment strategies for key Chinese industries, such as automobiles, artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and IT and introductions to leading Chinese companies¡¯ growth strategies.
KIS will introduce the Korean capital market and major industries to Chinese institutional investors and support their visits to leading Korean companies including Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motor, LG Electronics, and Kakao.
This event is a follow-up to the strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed by the two companies in March.
The two companies are expanding their cooperation in various fields, including the provision of research reports, cooperation in Korea-China stock trading and the Hong Kong debt capital market.
