KB Dream Home is a social contribution project that remodels independent living facilities to enable youths preparing to get on their feet to live in a comfortable living environment and establish a stable foundation for independence while providing various capacity-building programs, such as employment consulting and support for acquiring certifications.

This project is run as part of KB Financial Group¡¯s KB Kookmin Happiness Hope Project.

Starting with South Chungcheong Province in 2025, KB Kookmin Bank wrapped up environmental improvement work at independent living facilities in five regional areas including Gwangju, Mokpo, Daejeon and Jeonju, thereby enhancing young people¡¯s housing stability as they prepares for their independence.

Support will continue for independent living facilities nationwide this year as well. One independent living facility in Seoul and four regional facilities, including those in Wonju of Gangwon-do and Cheongju of Chungcheongbuk-do, were finally selected for environmental improvement.

Based on the results of on-site inspections, customized remodeling is scheduled to proceed.

In particular, this project will go beyond simple facility improvements and focus on creating shared community spaces such as study rooms to enhance youth capabilities and lounges for communications and relaxation.

¡°We hope that KB Dream Home will serve as a solid foundation to help young people starting their independent lives get off to a good start,¡± a KB Kookmin Bank official said.

¡°KB Kookmin Bank will expand various inclusive financial support initiatives to ensure the happiness of all citizens including youths.¡±

Announcing Plan for 3rd KB Sea Forest Project

KB Kookmin Bank announced on May 8 that it will conduct the 3rd phase of the KB Sea Forest Project on the coast near Jeseungdang on Hansando Island, Tongyeong of Gyeongsangnam-do in honor of the 14th Sea Planting Day on May 10.

The KB Sea Forest Project is KB Kookmin Bank¡¯s representative ESG environmental conservation activity that contributes to the realization of carbon neutrality by restoring marine ecosystems through the creation of seagrass colonies along the southern coast.

Seagrass is a blue carbon plant with excellent carbon absorption capabilities.

It plays a key role in the conservation of marine ecosystems such as providing spawning grounds and habitats for marine life, purifying the ocean environment, and preventing red tides.

KB Kookmin Bank has been conducting this project in collaboration with the Marine Eco-Technology Research Institute and EcoPeace Asia since 2022.

In the first phase of the project which began in Namhae-gun, Gyeongnam Project in 2022, a 10,000-square-meter underwater forest was successfully created.

The bank also achieved significant ecological results including an average increase of more than six times in the growth density and survival rate of seagrass within the forest.

Subsequently, the restoration of a blue carbon ecosystem along the southern coast was expanded to 10,000 square meters in the second phase in Sacheon of Gyeongsangnam-do.
