Korea Asset Management Corporation (KAMCO) held a commemorative ceremony for its 64th anniversary at KAMCO Maru on the 3rd floor of the Busan International Finance Center (BIFC) on April 6.
Reflecting on KAMCO’s role in stabilizing the Korean economy and recovering the livelihoods of the people, the company solidified its determination for a new leap as a reliable economic companion for the Korean people.
“KAMCO has served as a strong support for the Korean economy, sharing the history of overcoming Korea’s economic crises over the past 64 years,” KAMCO CEO Jeong Jeong-hoon said in his commemorative speech.
“Now is the time to prepare for a new takeoff into the future based on those achievements.”
“In a situation where burdens on economic actors continue, KAMCO must rapidly deliver performances that can satisfy the Korean people,” Jeong added.
“We must faithfully respond to the various demands of the Korean government and the Korean people by strengthening our inclusive roles, such as stabilizing the New Start Fund, expanding productive finance through multidimensional restructuring support, innovating state-owned property management and enhancing the execution of public development policies.”
“In an era of great transformation where innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence are changing industries, we must secure KAMCO’s unique future competitiveness by integrating innovative technologies throughout our overall business,” Jeong continued.
“We will also focus on dialing up our organizational capacity to respond flexibly to changes with a spirit of risk taking,” Jeong added.
“Let’s practice ‘One Team KAMCO’ by making integrity and fairness the basic values of our organizational culture, and respecting diversity while caring for each other across ranks and generations,” Jeong emphasized, “Through this, we must set up a healthy and warm organizational culture where all KAMCO employees can work happily and feel pride.”
Becoming a reliable economic companion who reaches out first when the Korean people are in difficulty is KAMCO’s ultimate goal according to Jeong.
“As each and every KAMCO employee has made what KAMCO is today and is the protagonist who will lead KAMCO’s future, let’s create a better future hand in hand,” Jeong said.
Launch of Improved OnBid
KAMCO recently introduced a new version of “Onbid.” Onbid is an online public asset trading platform where users can check information on the sale and lease of public assets in one place and even proceed with bidding.
Since its launch in 2002, the platform has crossed 121 trillion won in cumulative transaction volume and 3.03 million users.
With the unveiling of the next-generation service, user convenience has improved significantly.
KAMCO announced on April 5 that it will introduce the next-generation Onbid in April, marking the first such update in over a decade.
The core of the revamp is the enhancement of user convenience.
Responsive web design has been applied to the new version to improve its features that were previously inconvenient in some mobile environments, allowing users to access the same service on both PCs and mobile devices.
Additionally, a frequently used “Quick Search” menu has been placed as a major menu on its opening page to help users easily find items of interest.
At the moment, Onbid has stronger search convenience by organizing search criteria for easy viewing at a glance and allowing frequently used criteria to be saved and reused.
Onbid’s search function has also been improved to be keyword-centric, enabling the platform to recognize typos and similar words.
The intelligent chatbot function has been enhanced so that users can receive immediate guidance on inquiries as well as item searches, and real-time chat consultations with call center employees are also available if necessary.
Convenience has also been improved for users selling public assets.
Users can check essential business processes and progress status at a glance.
The workload of a staff has been reduced by improving functions that had previously raised issues, with the addition of a bulk item registration function among others.
