The results of the Upcycling Project in collaboration between Youngone Trading Holdings and Sookmyung Women¡¯s University will be unveiled through a fashion show at the Culture Depot in Mapo-gu, Seoul on Mar. 28.

Youngone Group has been conducting the Upcycling Project with Sookmyung Women¡¯s University for five years since 2022.

The purpose is to contribute to the creation of a sustainable fashion ecosystem by having students from the Department of Clothing and Textiles at Sookmyung Women¡¯s University transform out-of-season items donated by Youngone Group into new design works.

¡°Youngone Group considers it very meaningful to be able to support the students¡¯ creative challenges and experiments through the Upcycling Project,¡± a Youngone Group official said.

Youngone Group Strengthens Global Environmental Management with ISO 14001 Certifications

Youngone Group is accelerating its environmental management by acquiring additional ISO14001 certifications for six of its overseas factories.

ISO14001 is an international standard for environmental management established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). This certification verifies whether a company is fulfilling its environmental responsibilities by systematically identifying and managing environmental impacts and through steady improvement activities.

Youngone Group recently announced that six of its factories located in Bangladesh and Vietnam obtained ISO14001 certifications.

With six additional factories receiving certifications following those of two existing factories in Bangladesh, the total number of Youngone Group factories currently holding ISO14001 certifications has increased to eight.

¡°Through this certification, we have once again proved that Youngone Group¡¯s production system meets global environmental standards,¡± said Sung Rae-eun, vice chairwoman of Youngone Group ¡°We plan to gradually expand ISO 14001 certifications to other production subsidiaries down the road.¡±

Meanwhile, Youngone Group is also striving to establish an eco-friendly production system.

The Korean business group is actively engaged in ecosystem conservation such as planting 2.9 million trees of approximately 400 species and creating 25 water bodies in the KEPZ industrial complex in Bangladesh.

Furthermore, to reduce carbon emissions and ensure power stability, it is running solar power generation facilities (approximately 45 MWp as of 2024) at its global sites and plans to expand them to 100 MWp by 2030.
