Youngone Group is accelerating its environmental management by acquiring additional ISO14001 certifications for six of its overseas factories.
ISO14001 is an international standard for environmental management established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
This certification verifies whether a company is fulfilling its environmental responsibilities by systematically identifying and managing environmental impacts and through steady improvement activities.
Youngone Group recently announced that six of its factories located in Bangladesh and Vietnam obtained ISO14001 certifications.
With six additional factories receiving certifications following those of two existing factories in Bangladesh, the total number of Youngone Group factories currently holding ISO14001 certifications has increased to eight.
¡°Through this certification, we have once again proved that Youngone Group¡¯s production system meets global environmental standards,¡± said Sung Rae-eun, vice chairwoman of Youngone Group.
¡°We plan to gradually expand ISO14001 certifications to other production subsidiaries down the road.¡±
Meanwhile, Youngone Group is also striving to establish an eco-friendly production system.
The Korean business group is actively engaged in ecosystem conservation such as planting 2.9 million trees of approximately 400 species and creating 25 water bodies in the KEPZ industrial complex in Bangladesh.
Furthermore, to reduce carbon emissions and ensure power stability, it is running solar power generation facilities (approximately 45 MWp as of 2024) at its global sites and plans to expand them to 100 MWp by 2030.

Boosting Solar Power Supply Rate
The Korean Export Processing Zone (KEPZ), an eco-friendly industrial complex established by Youngone Group in Bangladesh, is drawing much attention as a solution to a power supply problem.
The KEPZ has 43 MWp of solar power generation facilities. As of 2025, the zone is supplying approximately 61% of its total power consumption with electric power from solar power facilities.
During the daytime, when solar power generation is active, surplus electricity in the factories is sold to the Bangladesh National Grid.
¡°Youngone Group wants to contribute to expanding renewable energy production and slashing carbon emissions by expanding solar power generation facilities,¡± a Youngone Group official said.
¡°We will continue to expand our corporate role for sustainable future value through eco-friendly investments.¡±
Youngone Group has been pursuing the installation of solar power generation facilities since 2019 and plans to build 100 MWp of solar power generation facilities at global production bases, including Bangladesh, Vietnam, India, Uzbekistan, and El Salvador, by 2030.
