NongHyup Bank announced on Dec. 3 that its self-developed ¡°AI Supervisor¡± and ¡°EW-AR¡± technologies have been registered with the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), marking the financial sector¡¯s first case of a standardized AI-based credit supervision process.

These two technologies are core modules of the so-called AI-Based Credit Supervision System established by NongHyup Bank this year.

The ¡°AI Supervisor¡± quantifies the judgment of supervisors using AI to automate the selection and assessment of good borrowers, improving work accuracy and efficiency.

Furthermore, ¡°EW-AR¡± utilizes specialized indicators based on the latest machine learning (ML) technology to rapidly predict and identify bad-quality borrowers, strengthening early warning systems and enhancing delinquency detection capabilities.

NongHyup Bank plans to utilize this patent to build an AI risk management ecosystem across the financial sector.

In 2016, the bank will begin the development of AI Supervisor 2.0 and complete an AI-based agentic automated supervision and monitoring system.

¡°The AI-based credit supervision system will support customers through data-driven, proactive risk management beyond simple default prevention,¡± NongHyup Bank President Kang Tae-young said.

¡°NongHyup Bank will expand AI technology across key business processes to enhance the accuracy and speed of risk management.¡±
