Korea Ginseng Corp. (KGC) has entered the global functional food ingredient supply business by launching the premium raw material brand G1899, the corporation said on Nov. 3.
The new brand, symbolizing the start of Jung Kwan Jang, contains the meaning of standardizing natural ingredients, such as red ginseng and expanding it to the global market.
As demand for premium ingredients, such non-GMO (genetically modified organism) and gluten-free is on the rise, red ginseng has been emerging as a next-generation functional food ingredient.
KGC has been expanding the B2B business scope from finished products to ingredients.
KGC unveiled the brand G1899 at the Supply Side Global 2025 (SSG 2025) that took place in Las Vegas, the United States, from Oct. 29 to Oct. 30.
At that time, the corporation introduced functions of the red ginseng ingredients, quality management regimes and formulation research outcomes.
The corporation revealed a variety of formulations, such as liquid, powder, capsule and skin care on top of red ginseng’s seven functions.
KGC has obtained international certifications, such as FSSC 22000, GMP, GRAS and Halal and a function of controlling blood glucose through the improving of the Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) has become the subject of much attention from buyers.
A KGC official said, “Jung Kwan Jang red ginseng has established itself as a representative brand of K-dry food with scientifically proved functions and quality and we will ramp up the competitiveness of businesses, ranging from ingredients to finished products through expanded cooperation with global partners.”

Jung Kwan Jang Releases New Height Growth Product ‘I-Kicker Jump’
The brand Jung Kwan Jang said on Nov. 7 it launched I-Kicker Jump, a new height growth functional food product.
Jung Kwan Jang is conducting a one-month promotion program for clients to purchase the functional health product at discounted prices. It will be made available at Jung Kwang Jang outlets across the nation and outlets at major department stores.
The new product contains major ingredients, such as fermented oyster extract (FGO), zinc, selenium and manganese.
FGO, an ingredient of oysters fermented with lactic acid bacteria, is patented in Korea, the United States, Japan and Europe.
I-Kicker Jump is applied by Jung Kwan Jang’s 126-year ginseng research knowhow “FGO height growth formula” on top of the functional health food ingredient.
The new product is produced in consideration of children’s immunity, growth and vitality since it contains zinc effective for not only height growth but also immunity and cell division, selenium effective for preventing cells from oxygen free radical and manganese for bone formation and energy use.
I-Kicker Jump has no refined sugar, coloring, or sweetener additives.

Korea Ginseng Corp., a subsidiary of KT&G, also joined activities to support the international event by capitalizing on Jung Kwan Jang’s red ginseng brand.
