POSCO E&C announced on Oct. 26 that it held four On-Site Company-Wide Management Meetings at workplaces where major accidents occurred this year.

This measure was taken in line with the ¡°Safety-Comes-First¡± Management Principle declared by POSCO Group Chairman Chang In-hwa and a group-wide safety innovation initiative.

Following the establishment of the Special Group Safety Task Force on Aug. 1, POSCO Group established POSCO Safety Solutions, a safety-specialized subsidiary in September.

Chairman Chang presided over three Special Safety Inspection Meetings, beginning with the first meeting at a Gwangmyeong-Seoul Expressway construction site.

Furthermore, POSCO E&C is continuing its safety management efforts both within and outside the group, including conducting sudden inspections of the Chuncheon Soyang Promotion Zone 2 and Shinbanpo and Cheonho Redevelopment Sites.

In line with this direction, POSCO E&C has also strengthened its field-centered execution capabilities. All executives visited the accident site to identify the cause and discuss solutions with partners.

Through four meetings, they assessed site-specific issues and developed actionable measures.

The safety and health organization has also been reorganized from a headquarters-centric to a ¡°field-centric system.¡±

The Construction Safety Research Institute, the Safety and Health Planning Group, and the Smart Safety Technology Group have been linked with the R&D Center to establish an integrated management system that simultaneously analyzes accident causes, improves systems and develops AI-based safety technologies.
The AI-based Smart Safety Management System has also been expanded.

Using video analysis technology, the company has implemented ¡°opening cover removal detection¡± and ¡°forklift approach notification¡± systems at approximately 50 sites, and integrated operations, from accident risk detection to data management, are being implemented through a smart safety platform.

Furthermore, POSCO E&C set up the Safety and Mutual Growth Council involving workers and partners, and institutionalized the Right to Know, the ¡°Right to Speak, and the Right to Avoid Risks¡± Principles to ensure that the voices of those in the field are translated into policies and systems.

In August, the builder shut down all 103 sites nationwide and conducted emergency safety assessments with external organizations.

This resulted in getting rid of 1,070 risk factors and a fundamental overhaul of the company¡¯s on-site safety system.

Meanwhile, POSCO E&C has proven its global landscape design leadership by winning a series of major domestic and international design awards.

On Oct. 15, POSCO E&C¡¯s innovative landscape space, ¡°Farm Fit,¡± won the Grand Prize in the Inclusive Design category at the Red Dot Design Award 2025 in Singapore.

POSCO E&C will officially unveil ¡°The Atelier Edition,¡± a high-end interior design product developed in collaboration with world-renowned interior designer Yang Tae-oh, at a launch event in Seoul on Nov. 7.

This product combines the identity of POSCO E&C¡¯s high-end residential brand, ¡°Hauterre,¡± with the aesthetics of artist Yang Tae-oh, creating a ¡°complete residential space¡± that harmonizes artistry and technology.

Winning Huge LNG Terminal Contract in Thailand

POSCO E&C strengthened its position in the global LNG market by winning a 1.5 trillion-won Gulf MTP (Map Ta Phut) LNG Terminal Construction Project in Thailand.

On June 30, POSCO E&C and Gulf Development of Thailand signed a contract in Bangkok, Thailand, for a national energy infrastructure project to build two LNG tanks with a capacity of 250,000 cubic meters, unloading facilities, and a regasification and transmission facility with an annual capacity of 8 million tons.

The Gulf MTP LNG Terminal, to be built in the Map Ta Phut Industrial Complex, 130 km from Bangkok, is a joint project between Gulf Development, a leading private energy investor in Thailand, and PTT Tank Terminal, a subsidiary of PTT, Thailand¡¯s largest state-owned energy company.

It is Thailand¡¯s first public-private joint venture to build an LNG terminal.
