LS Group is making waves in foreign markets amid global economic uncertainties.
The business group saw another outstanding business performance in the third quarter of this year, and it is expected to chalk up the best-ever results by year-end.
The strong business performance is owed to LS Chmn. Koo Ja-eun¡¯s ¡°ambidextrous management¡± and efforts to expand overseas businesses.
The financial information firm FnGuide said on Oct. 22 that LS Corp. chalked up 7,544.1 billion won in Q3 sales and 249.9 billion won in Q3 operating profit.
The figures represent a 6.5 percent year-on-year rise and a 41.2 percent year-on-year jump, respectively.
The latest outstanding business performance is attributable to the business group¡¯s aggressive exploration of overseas markets.
Chmn. Koo¡¯s strategies to manage global business networks as ¡°an overseas business expert¡± since his inauguration has paid off.
The rising overseas business growth is led by LS ELECTRIC. In a public notice issued on the same day, LS ELECTRIC posted 1,216.3 billion won in Q3 sales and 100.8 billion won in Q3 operating profit.
The figures represent a 19.1 percent year-on-year surge and a 51.7 percent year-on-year jump, respectively.
LS ELECTRIC saw sales in the United States jump on the back of the surging demand for electric equipment, caused by major global big tech companies¡¯ expanded investments into AI and data centers.
The signing of a 162.5 billion won order to supply electrical power and distribution systems to a U.S. big tech¡¯s data center had a great impact on improving its business performance.
Furthermore, rising sales of battery control panels for energy storage systems on the part of LS ELECTRIC¡¯s Vietnamese operation also played a part.
The company¡¯s plant in Bac Ninh, Vietnam, specializing in production of BCPs, owns a 35 percent share of the Vietnamese distribution system market.
The operation rate of the plant stood at 93.2 percent as of Q2 2025. Given the trend, the company decided to expand its production capacity in July.
The company plans to raise its production capability from current $40 million to $60 million, more than 50 percent.
LS Cable & System, a major company of LS Group, has also continued to show its outstanding business performance.
As the undersea cable business normally declines due to delays and seasonal factors, the company landed a 160 billion won Formosa 4 Project in Taiwan in September.
The rising portion of high-voltage direct circuit (HVDC) portion of ground cable exports to Europe is expected to improve profitability.
LS Cable & System¡¯s dedication of the fourth and fifth undersea cable wings is expected to secure capabilities enough to meet additional winning orders, predicted to culminate in 2026.
The outstanding business performance of the business group is owed to Chmn. Koo¡¯s ambidextrous management strategies, which focus on mainstay business areas, such as electricity, power and materials.
On the other hand, Chamn. Koo strives to secure the competitiveness of future leading technologies, such as battery, EV, semiconductor (distribution board), AI, big data and IoT.
