Korea Investment & Securities (KIS) announced that the company co-hosted the 2025 Global Asset Management Seminar with Goldman Sachs Asset Management at the Parnas Hotel in Seoul on Sept. 28.

This seminar aimed to provide KIS clients with differentiated insights on the outlook for global equity and bond markets.

The seminar commenced with a welcome address by Kim Sung-hwan, president of KIS.

It continued with remarks by Matt Gibson, head of Global Client Solutions Group at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, followed by a presentation on global equity and tech sector outlooks by Sung Cho, a director of the Fundamental Equity Group at Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

Cho led an in-depth discussion on Goldman Sachs¡¯ investment capabilities and future investment opportunities related to the tech sector.

In the fixed income session, Akash Tombre, a director of Goldman Sachs Asset Management¡¯s Fixed Income & Liquidity Solutions Group, introduced global fixed income and income-oriented investment strategies.

He detailed medium-to-long-term investment opportunities stemming from changes in US and European interest rate policies, the growth potential of emerging market bond markets, and the possibility of an improved high-yield bond environment.

Seo Yong-tae, head of global strategy management at Korea Investment Trust Management, introduced the Korea Investment Goldman Sachs US Tech Fund.

This fund is exclusively sold by KIS and under management by Goldman Sachs Asset Management, showcasing its global investment capabilities.

¡°Our role is to help Korean investors proactively read and respond to changes in global markets by leveraging our global networks,¡± emphasized Kim Sung-hwan, president of Korea Investment & Securities.

¡°KIS will continue to strengthen cooperation with top-tier global asset managers to provide customers with financial services of a different dimension and elevate the global standing of Korean finance.¡±

MCP Service to Create Investment Program with AI

KIS announced on Sept. 15 that it has launched a model context protocol (MCP) service, directly linked with AI, enabling users to easily develop investment programs.

Through this, users can effortlessly create investment programs utilizing KIS¡¯ open API using natural language instructions, without a need for separate complex coding processes.

For example, a simple prompt like ¡°Create a program to buy 10 shares of Stock A when it rises by 5%¡± can implement a personalized trading tool.

KIS developed and applied MCP to its existing open application programming interface (API) service.

The MCP is a communication protocol enabling consistent connection between AI agents and external data sources, tools, and workflows.

At the same time, KIS has boosted user convenience to utilize the open API.

The company has released trading APIs to enable investors and developers to programmatically implement their own strategies such as algorithmic or quantitative approaches, and operates KIS Developers as a development center.

Through this overhaul, the company has made its trading APIs accessible in one place and released free sample code for immediate use in actual services on the open-source platform ¡°GitHub.¡±

It has also newly introduced GPTs, a ChatGPT-based chatbot service to provide 24/7 support for API usage guidance, trouble shooting and example provision.

KIS will gradually expand its service scope in line with AI-related security and regulatory requirements.

¡°As demand grows for customized investment programs utilizing AI and open APIs, our goal is to provide an environment where anyone can easily create their own investment tools,¡± said Kim Sung-hwan, president of Korea Investment & Securities.

¡°KIS is planning to expand practical application cases by broadening connections not only with individual customers but also with corporations.¡±

KIS has consistently pursued openness and collaboration through initiatives, such as sponsoring the Pseudo Lab community, participating in conferences, releasing open APIs and open-sourcing sample code.
