The Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) Authority held an interim report meeting on the detailed design of the IFEZ Smart City Service Phase 2 Construction Project at Songdo G Tower on May 29.
This meeting was organized to share strategic plans for constructing AI and data-based smart city services, to be implemented in the IFEZ and to discuss the design direction of core services aimed at enhancing citizens¡¯ safety and convenience.
The interim report meeting focused on AI and data-based platform services that citizens can experience including smart traffic guidance and optimization, disaster and weather-specific notification services, tourist movement pattern analysis, smart commercial district analysis, and urban safety management analysis.
The project is expected to contribute to the establishment of intelligent smart city infrastructure by actively utilizing private communication networks and Vehicle to Everything (V2X) infrastructure, AI-based traffic safety services, IoT-powered manhole management, crowd density analysis, and field-type edge AI devices.
In addition, participants discussed how to enhance the data-based POOM platform to support local startups and strategies to build an AI learning data platform.
Through these efforts, the IFEZ Authority plans to begin creating a regional innovation ecosystem and a data-based corporate growth support system.

The IFEZ Authorities are aiming to wrap up the detailed design of the second phase of the smart city service construction project by the second half of this year, followed by phased construction and verification, with the goal of completing the IFEZ as an AI-based smart city by 2040.
¡°Through this interim report meeting, we will review the smart city infrastructure and service strategies and further accelerate urban innovation based on governance with the participation of the private sector, public sector, and citizens,¡± said Yoon Won-seok, commissioner of the IFEZ Authority.
¡°We will continue to build a data-driven urban management system to substantially improve the quality of life for citizens.¡±
2025 Korea-China Economic Industry Forum
The IFEZ Authority hosted the 2025 Korea-China Economic Industry Forum at the Grand Ballroom of the Sheraton Grand Incheon Hotel on June 19.
In honor of the 10th anniversary of the Korea-China Free Trade Agreement (FTA), this forum was held under the theme of ¡°Discussions on Future Promising Industries and Supply Chain Cooperation.¡±
The Chinese Ambassador to Korea, the head of the CCPIT in Korea, the chairman of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Korea, and Korean and Chinese business leaders attended, and various presentations and corporate sessions were held.
During the morning session, Korean and Chinese experts made presentations on topics related to the FTA and supply chains and engaged in in-depth discussions.
In the afternoon, following investment promotions for Korean and Chinese economic zones, representative companies from both countries shared cooperation cases and visions in advanced industries such as smart logistics, bio-pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence (AI).
Big Concerts at Art Center Incheon
In June 2025, Art Center Incheon welcomed audiences with performances by world-class classical artists.
First, on June 12, Korean pianist Cho Seong-jin held a recital.
Cho is beloved by classical music fans around the world for his precise technique and delicate sensibility.
In particular, he received praise for his unique interpretation of Ravel¡¯s colorful yet refined musical colors.
In this performance, he expressed Ravel¡¯s lyrical yet dynamic works with his own sensibility, delivering a special musical experience to the audience.
On June 26, the world-renowned New York Philharmonic took the stage at Art Center Incheon.
This was their first performance in Korea in 11 years since 2014.
It was an even more special performance with contemporary master conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen conducting the New York Philharmonic and world-renowned pianist Krystian Zimerman as the soloist.
This concert featured Beethoven¡¯s representative works, Piano Concerto No. 4 and Symphony No. 3 ¡°Eroica.¡±
