NongHyup Bank announced on June 5 that it will hold the 4th Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Big League 2025 until October to promote field-oriented work automation.
The RPA Big League is an internal competition where frontline staff members take the lead in identifying tasks, planning, and developing solutions to automate routine, standardized, and repetitive work.
This year¡¯s competition will feature 35 teams composed of headquarters and branch employees. They will work on a total of 47 tasks.
To enable employees without RPA experience to participate actively, NongHyup Bank will provide them with one-on-one mentoring by RPA planners and developers, customized and practical development training and on-site maintenance education.

This year, in response to requests from branch employees, the bank plans to strengthen a ¡°branch modular RPA¡± function that runs bots, laying the groundwork for RPA utilization at all branches across the nation.
¡°Including the 47 tasks in this RPA Big League, we expect to automate a total of 247 tasks, saving the bank approximately 45.4 billion won annually,¡± said Kim Yong-hwan, a manager of the Process Innovation Department at NongHyup Bank.
¡°NongHyup Bank will pump up its digital innovation efforts to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity by automating repetitive tasks and creating an environment where employees focus on high-value-added tasks.¡±
Financial Education for Elementary School Students
NongHyup Bank announced on May 30 that it visited Bunae Elementary School in Seocheon-gun, Chungcheongnam-do to give visiting financial education to students on May 29.
Now in its ninth year, the visiting financial education program provides financial education to schools in financially marginalized areas, such as regions facing a drop in population.
The program consists of financial education classes, trying bank employee jobs and a tour of NH Wings, a bus-type branch with the participation of the N Dolphin College Student Volunteer Group.
This education program was conducted in a customized manner, dividing all students at Bunae Elementary School into lower- and upper-grade students.
Lower-grade students experienced bank employee jobs such as issuing passbooks and cards, while upper-grade students got their hands on foreign currency exchanges.
Additionally, students boarded the mobile branch bus (NH Wings) to try actual banking equipment such as counterfeit currency detection using banknote counters and counterfeit banknote detectors.
¡°I participated in the visiting financial education program to instill proper economic and financial values in children in financially marginalized areas,¡± said Choi Dong-ha, senior vice president and a guest teacher for the financial education program.
¡°We will continue to contribute to the development of local communities by expanding financial education for children and youths.¡±
Supporting Fire Safety Facility Installation in Small and Medium Hospitals
NongHyup Bank announced on June 13 that it signed an agreement with the Korea Small and Medium Hospital Association (KSMHA) on June 12 at the Seoul Garden Hotel in Mapo-gu, Seoul to support the installation of fire safety facilities in small- and medium-sized hospitals.
NongHyup Bank and the KSMHA inked the deal to support small and medium-sized hospitals with facility funding following the revision of the Fire Services Act Enforcement Decree, which made the installation of fire safety facilities systems like sprinklers mandatory for small-and medium-sized hospitals.
NongHyup Bank plans to provide preferential loan terms including credit limits and interest rates to the KSMHA¡¯s member hospitals to provide funds required for fire safety facility installation.
