LS Group¡¯s energy and mobility subsidiaries demonstrated future strategy business capabilities by participating in InterBattery 2025, which took place at COEX in Seoul from March 5 to March 7.

The subsidiaries were LS ELECTRIC, LS MnM, LS Materials, LS Alsco, LS e-Mobility Solutions and LS Thira-Utech.

The exhibitors of LS Group disclosed the total solutions of the whole of the renewal energy sector, ranging from eco-friendly generation to batteries.

Chairman Koo Ja-eun of LS Group said the prolonged EV chasm would not have an impact on the business group¡¯s battery materials projects.

He made the remarks while touring LS Group¡¯s pavilion on March 5.

In an interview, Chmn. Koo said, ¡°The EV chasm had happened before a full-fledged project on battery materials was launched following a decision to invest into the sector, but it will disappear when factories will be dedicated.¡±

Officials with LS Group¡¯s energy and mobility subsidiaries explain exhibits on display at LS Pavilion at InterBattery 2025, which took place at COEX in Seoul from March 5 to March 7.

Chmn. Koo said the current chasm has been focused on the EV sector, but LS Group does not worry about it, because demand is on the rise in a variety of areas, including robots, ESS and ESS.

He said the high season of batteries will come back soon and LS Group is making preparations in time for it.

In January 2023, Chmn. Koo announced ¡°Vision 2030,¡± calling for nurturing the business group¡¯s three axes — battery, EV and semiconductor sectors.
In the battery sector, LS MnM has been implementing new businesses related to secondary battery materials.

The company plans to mass produce high-purity metal compounds, major materials of the secondary battery, including nickel sulfide by investing some 2 trillion won from plants in Ulsan and Saemangeum, 2027 and 2029, respectively.

Chmn. Koo had a meeting with group executives and subsidiary CEOs, including Chmn. Koo Ja-kyun of LS ELECTRIC and CEO Koo Dong-hwi of LS MnM to discuss future business strategies at LS Group¡¯s pavilion.

Chmn. Koo looked at the exhibits on display at LS Group¡¯s pavilion.

LS ELECTRIC and five other subsidiaries jointly set up a pavilion covering 406 square meters, equivalent to the size of 45 booths.

The differentiated, next-generation products and technologies on display were divided according to five themes — ESS, direct circuit solutions, future materials, EV and smart factory.

LS Group set up a joint pavilion at InterBattery 2025 after Chmn. Koo demanded not only hardware, but also ways of providing solutions combining AI and software to customers should be showcased as he participated in CES 2025 in Las Vegas in January.

LS ELECTRIC brought to the fore strategic new products, such as next-generation energy storage systems and direct current solutions.

The ¡°One-in-one ESS Platform,¡± produced by LS ELECTRIC, can predict electricity consumption, prevent breakdowns and secure safety by analyzing data being collected via censors installed in batteries and power conversion systems (PCS) in real time.

The company unveiled ¡°Modular Scalable String Platform¡± (MSSP), which reduces energy consumption.

The company has developed MSSP based on the world¡¯s top production capabilities the company accumulated in the power conversion and the electric and electronic industry inverter sectors.

It allows an independent operation by modularizing Power Electronic Building Blocks (PEBBs) by 200kW unit.

LS ELECTRIC also disclosed ¡°DC Factory Solution,¡± a direct current distribution solution.

The company proposed an operation platform in which next-generation direct current products are applied to real factories, such solid-state transformer (SST), DC-DC converter and solid-state circuit breaker (SSCB).

LS MnM suggested the current status and future vision of the secondary battery material business.

The company visualized all business processes, ranging from importing of raw materials and building of global supply chains and entry strategies targeting the U.S. market.
