KEPCO KPS Teams Up with Daewoo E&C to Establish a Full-Cycle Cooperation Regime to Explore SMR Market
KEPCO KPS signed an MOU on cooperation in the SMR business with Daewoo E&C, agreeing to build a cooperative system in the full cycle processes ranging from design to operation and maintenance, the company said on March 13.
Under the agreement, both sides decided to participate in joint SMR projects in Korea, developing SMR MRO regimes, jointly entering overseas SMR project markets, decommissioning nuclear units and developing new models for transition to SMRs.

KEPCO KPS has made KPS AI Robot Engineer (KARE), a generative AI service developed on its own, a clever company colleague.
KEPCO KPS said on Feb. 24 that KEPCO KPS became the nation¡¯s first public entity to have established KARE, a generative AI-based service, using in-house manpower and infrastructure in July 2024.
KARE, an open LLM-based, generative AI service, helps KEPCO KPS staff members summarize, analyze and translate a variety of reports and theses without worrying about external leakage of information and technologies on top of writing documents and planning ideas.
