Woori Bank announced on April 1 that it has opened a branch in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, in a first for a Korean bank.
In 2017, Woori Bank opened an office in Katowice, an industrial city in southwestern Poland with a large number of local subsidiaries of Korean companies.
Warsaw is home to Korean defense companies, such as Hanwha Aerospace, Hyundai Rotem, and Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI). It also has subsidiaries like Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Hyundai Motor, and Kia Corp.
This will be Woori Bank¡¯s third branch in Europe, after the London branch in the United Kingdom, which serves as a foreign currency procurement center, and Woori Bank Europe in Frankfurt, Germany, which focuses on corporate banking.
The Polish branch will oversee business operations in Eastern Europe where Korean branches and companies are doing business in Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania.
¡°Woori Bank completed the establishment of its three major branches in Europe,¡± said Lee Jung-woo, head of Woori Bank¡¯s Poland branch.
¡°With Poland¡¯s geopolitical advantages and a post-war reconstruction project in Ukraine, many Korean companies are expected to make a foray into Poland. Woori Bank¡¯s Polish branch will be a reliable partner for them.¡±

Through this renewal, new artists and their artwork will be added to provide customers with a richer art appreciation experience.
WON Arte Gallery is one of Woori Financial Group¡¯s four core social contribution projects.
It is a platform that introduces the work of artists with developmental disabilities online, in collaboration with the Miral Culture and Art Center.

In addition, to help them understand the meaning behind the art, Woori Bank¡¯s announcers provide docent commentary they recorded themselves, allowing for deeper appreciation.

¡°We will continue to support the creative activities and social participation of artists with disabilities by regularly updating artists and works and strengthening the gallery¡¯s donation function.¡±
