Sales of the redesigned Genesis GV60 in Korea started on March 6, showcasing more power and state-of-the-art luxury features.
It¡¯s the first time Genesis¡¯ sole electric model developed on a dedicated electric vehicle (EV) platform has undergone a redesign since it was initially launched in October 2021.
Inspired by the brand¡¯s design philosophy ¡°Athletic Elegance,¡± the redesigned GV60 comes with an 84-kilowatt-per-hour fourth-generation battery, allowing it to travel up to 481 kilometers on a single charge.
Its innovative Smart Regeneration System and other newly introduced driving features offer a comfortable yet dynamic driving experience that is unique among luxury EVs.
This includes an immersive in-car entertainment system that supports several streaming services on a large display with Dolby Atmos sounds.
The driving experience is further enhanced with convenient features like a Hands On Detection (HOD) steering wheel and Walk Away Lock.
The GV60 has been reborn with a more refined exterior design that presents a striking and futuristic image, in line with Genesis¡¯ design philosophy ¡°athletic elegance¡±, while the interior embodies the brand¡¯s ¡°beauty of white space¡± concept, complemented by an array of sophisticated tech features.
At the front, the new model sports a refreshed bumper with a three-dimensional shape that exudes a bold impression.
The headlamps highlight the brand¡¯s iconic Two Lines design language with stunning and sophisticated Micro Lens Array (MLA) technology that welcomes the driver when they unlock the car.
The vehicle comes with the choice of sleek five-spoke rims in 21-inch dark metallic glossy gray or 20-inch light silver wheel options.
The standard 19-inch wheels feature a matte dark gray color, which, along with the wheel arch cladding, gives the model a sporty yet elegant appearance.
Muñoz Stresses India¡¯s Roles in EV Strategy
José Muñoz, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Hyundai Motor, toured Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) in Gurgaon, Haryana, a new satellite city near New Delhi, on March 4.
It was the first time CEO Muñoz had made a visit to HMIL since taking office.
CEO Muñoz had a town hall meeting with HMIL executives and employees.
At the meeting, Muñoz spoke about Hyundai Motor¡¯s global vision and the growth of Hyundai Motor in India.
¡°India is an important and growing market, and it is the third largest one in Hyundai Motor¡¯s global business,¡± he said.
HMIL¡¯s initial public offering has helped Hyundai Motor invest in new products and additional production capacity, and expand them, he said.
¡°HMIL has emerged as a world-class automobile manufacturing and regional export hub, and you cannot imagine Hyundai Motor¡¯s global vision without India, and HMIL, celebrating the 30th anniversary of its founding next year, will ramp up Hyundai Motor¡¯s brand commitment in India,¡± CEO Muñoz said.
Hyundai Motor aims to produce 2 million EV units globally by 2030, and India will play an important role in achieving the milestone, he said.
CEO Muñoz said HMIL will continue to provide support to expand EV products and invest in infrastructure.
He said Hyundai Motor sees the Indian market with a great growth opportunity, and such a growth of Hyundai Motor¡¯s first overseas operation comes in accordance with the automaker¡¯s strategies.
Hyundai Motor entered India in 1996, and HMIL has sold 13 models, including sedans, SUVs and EVs, and it has ranked as the second auto group in India.
Hyundai Motor and Samsung Unveil Breakthrough Private 5G RedCap Technology
Hyundai Motor announced on Feb. 26 that it successfully completed a pilot project for Private 5G (P-5G) RedCap (Reduced Capability) technology in partnership with Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.
The company will showcase the technology at MWC25 Barcelona, the world¡¯s largest IT and electronics exhibition, which will be held in Spain from March 3rd to 6th.
As a leader in future mobility, Hyundai Motor advances smart mobility solutions through electrification, software-driven capabilities, and smart manufacturing technologies.
To achieve this, the company has collaborated with Samsung, a global leader in network solutions, to become the first in the mobility manufacturing sector to verify P-5G RedCap technology.
