Lee Jae-yong of Samsung Electronics, rebuking his executives that Samsung had lost its ¡°intrinsic DNA,¡± stressed their determination to cope with a crisis using a ¡°to be or not to be¡± attitude.
Samsung Electronics Chmn. Lee made the remarks in a video steamed at a series of seminars targeting Samsung executives, business sources said on March 17.
Some 2,000 executives from Samsung Group¡¯s subsidiaries received an educational program on the revival of Samsung values at Samsung Training Institute in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do, in late February.
The video includes Samsung Electronics Chmn. Lee¡¯s message, in addition to the management tenets of the late founder and chairman Lee Byung-chull, and that of late chairman Lee Kun-hee.
Chairman Lee said, ¡°What matters is not the crisis itself, but the attitude you use to cope with it.¡± He emphasized that Samsung has to invest in the future, even if it means sacrificing immediate profits.
Participants of the seminars were given a plaque, inscribed with the message ¡°Strong in Crisis, Adept in Turning the Tide and Samsung Unflinching in Fierce Competition.¡±
