HUG announced on Dec. 20 that ¡°Housing Urban Finance Research¡±, an academic journal published by HUG¡¯s Housing and Urban Finance Research Institute, was finally selected as a registered journal of the Korea Research Foundation.

This recognizes the academic value and research excellence of Housing and Urban Finance Research, making it a more prestigious journal for researchers in Korea and abroad.

Housing and Urban Finance Research is a specialized journal covering housing, cities, and finance, providing in-depth coverage of key areas such as housing finance, urban development policies and institutions, and market environments. ¡°The recognition of Housing Urban Finance Research as a listed journal has positioned the journal as a center of academic credibility for researchers at home and abroad and has contributed to raising the status of HUG at home and abroad,¡± said Heo Ji-haeng, director of the Housing Urban Finance Research Institute.

HUG Awards Scholarships to Foster IT Talents in Busan

HUG announced that it held a scholarship award ceremony on the second floor of Busan City Hotel with partner organizations to operate scholarships for fostering local talents, such as the Industry-Academy Cooperation Division of Busan Metropolitan City on Dec. 16.

Busan City and local public institutions, including HUG, organize scholarships every year to foster outstanding talents in the IT field in the region.

This year¡¯s scholarships were worth 831 million won and a total of 465 students were selected as scholarship recipients.

In particular, starting this year, local talents in Busan who received scholarships will be able to receive additional employment incentives when they are hired by local companies in Busan, helping those companies secure talented workers.

A system was introduced to provide incentives to college students for volunteering to teach young students at local study rooms and children¡¯s centers. A total of 30 college students received extra points.

¡°We hope that the outstanding local talents who received the scholarships will pursue their dreams to the fullest,¡± HUG President Yoo said.
