President Hong Bum-sik of LG U+ delivered his New Year’s message to executives and staffers on Jan. 2.
President Hong said, “Checking into each department’s work for the past month, I’ve found a strong foundation you have built up while overcoming a myriad of difficulties, and it is owed to outcomes of what you attach top priority to customer values with one mind.”
Hong expressed hope for a better tomorrow by making strong systems.
President Hong said “the core value for a ‘growth leading AX company’ that LG U+ is pursuing is to create a better world by moving customers.”
President Hong cited a virtuous cycle in which if values are delivered that can impress customers with a person-oriented attitude, customers then become promoters, who raise our value.
He shared the view with his staff, “the tightening of the virtuous cycle structure could lead to a ‘brighter world’ in which customers, partners and all members feel happiness.”
President Hong stressed four things that can impress customers.
First, he said that LG U+ has to create customer value by concentrating on customers.
President Hong said, “If we immerse ourselves in customers, we can grasp their needs and market changes in advance. ,It is important to have an in-depth understanding of fractionized customers and see their detailed experiences according to each segment, and we have to explore their ‘wow’ points on top of improving their pain points.”
To this end, he stressed in the importance of the perspective of customers and differentiated competitiveness.
Second, he said that LG U+ needs to secure structural competitiveness through the establishment of an AX ecosystem.
“With the spread of AI technology everywhere, it is important to offer super personified values in all processes of the customer experience. And in order to secure competitiveness fast, we need to build an ecosystem with AI technology companies and platform companies with a better understanding of customers’ values and experiences, and make a structure in which dominant entry barriers are built to the extent competitors cannot catch up,” he said.
Third, he said, LG U+ will pursue stage-by-stage development through choice and concentration based on data and indexes.
“We have to clarify the purpose of all businesses and work and designate everything with customers’ interests in mind,” he said.
Fourth, he emphasized the establishment of basics, such as quality, information security, and safety. President Hong said, “When it comes to quality, security and safety, I hope LG U+ will be recognized as the world’s top company.”
He also stressed the establishment of a repetitive and successful system to be armed with a strong sense of the four factors, saying that accumulating successful experiences could lead to a secure success model, not one success.
Lastly, President Hong emphasized the significance of a corporate culture by communicating with positive words, and praising each other.
LG U+ President Hong Calls for ‘Strong Foundation for Future Leap Foward’
As his first field inspection tour of 2025 on Jan. 20, President Hong Bun-sik of LG U+ toured the Daejeon R&D Center to look into education related to the operation of networks and technology verification.
President Hong stressed the need to strengthen basic capabilities, such as quality, safety and security, saying “Strong basics bring about flexible applications.”
The Daejeon R&D Center is LG U+’s integrated training center responsible for the education on the operation and repair of networks and experimenting quality verificaition.
President Hong said a the center, “Basics related to customers’ reliability are the most significant to establish success methods, and the establishment of basics can offer difference values.”
