Lee Hwan-joo, the new president of KB, delivers his inauguration speech in a ceremony at KB Kookmin Bank¡¯s headquarters in Seoul on Jan. 2.

KB Kookmin Bank must become a bank that sells trust to customers and society, not just a bank that sells financial products, emphasized Lee Hwan-joo, the new president of KB Kookmin Bank.

Lee made the statement at a ceremony held in honor of the inauguration of the 9th president of KB Kookmin Bank at the bank¡¯s headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul on Jan. 2.

At the ceremony, Lee paid his respect to the victims of an airliner crash at Muan International Airport in South Jeolla Province, and then read his inaugural message.

¡°On my first day as president-elect of KB Kookmin Bank, I emphasized the word ¡®trust¡¯ five times,¡± Lee said.

¡°A path taken by Kookmin Bank, which is trusted by the people and grows together with them, is a journey that all of our employees have made in the past and will continue to make together in the future.¡±

¡°KB Kookmin Bank must make our customers realize that other banks cannot hold a candle to KB Kookmin Bank, as we stick to ethics-based sales better than others,¡± Lee said.

¡°Creating a friendly and strong relationship of trust between KB Kookmin Bank and customers is the value and true face of Kookmin Bank that I want to create.¡±

¡°If KB Kookmin Bank is not trusted by customers, it can hardly survive,¡± Lee added.

¡°Let¡¯s become KB Kookmin Bank that will create a new path of trust for customers and society with extraordinary determination and will.¡±

¡°As Einstein said, ¡®We cannot solve today¡¯s problems with yesterday¡¯s methods,¡¯ we must turn our gaze outward, face today¡¯s KB Kookmin Bank and innovate it in a new way,¡± Lee said.

¡°KB Kookmin Bank must redefine and redesign the purposes of each business by discerning means to achieve it in an essential aspect.¡±

¡°I believe that the ability to focus on goals and find and execute means optimized for attaining the goals is the core of KB Kookmin Bank¡¯s differentiated competitiveness,¡± Lee said.

¡°I emphasize once again that the ability to clarify goals and find and execute means to attain the goals is the source of differentiated competitiveness.¡±

¡°Whenever I encounter the word ¡®crisis,¡¯ I try to look at the opportunity side rather than the precariousness said,¡± Lee continued.

¡°I hope that this positive energy will be transmitted to every corner of KB Kookmin Bank. Let¡¯s embark on a new journey together toward KB Kookmin Bank¡¯s better future.¡±
