HD Hyundai Oil Bank Ramps Up Responsibility Management thru Social Contribution Activities

HD Hyundai Oil Bank has been strengthening responsibility management by continuously conducting social contribution activities.

The refinery company has been operating the “Volunteer Program for Sharing Happiness” for the past 19 years in which HD Hyundai Oil Bank staffers participate.

Under the program, some 300 HD Hyundai Oil Bank executives and staffers participated in a toy-making event for abandoned dogs in the first half of 2024 and a second half event to make mood lights.

HD Hyundai Oil Bank has been conducting diverse hands-on campaigns to raise its executives and staffers’ awareness through social contribution activities.

In November, the company conducted an upcycling campaign using waste boxes, dubbed “Making Paper Canvases of Hope.”

The hands-on drives are designed to raise HD Hyundai Oil Bank executives and staffers’ awareness and expand social contribution activities.

Among the campaigns HD Hyundai Oil Bank has been conducting annually is an activity designed to remove plants disrupting the ecosystem, a 100-day campaign designed to nurture and transplant saplings and “ESG 7 Campaign,” designed to choose seven ESG activities and put them into practice.

HD Hyundai Oil Bank has been conducting social contribution activities in the Seosan area, where its headquarters is located.

In June, the company released 200,000 rockfish fries off the sea in Samgilpo, Seosan, and Najido, Dangjin.

It was an annual campaign designed to protect fish resources under the “Sea Cultivation Project,” conducted by the company for the 22nd straight year.

HD Hyundai Oil Bank conducted an annual event “o share kimjang” for the 13th straight year.

The company made 3,000 heads of kimchi with ingredients purchased from neighborhood farmers and delivered them to low-income people.

The company has been conducting a cultural and sport project catering to marginalized people.

HD Hyundai Oil Bank has sponsored the production of “barrier-free” films with subtitles and descriptive video services for the blind and deaf, as well as multi-cultural families since 2019.

Starting with “A little Price,” the company produced two to three barrier-free films every year.

HD Hyundai Oil Bank executives and staffers participated in the talent donation by contributing voices to the production of films.

The company has carried out “K League Dream Assist Program,” designed to cultivate soccer children in cooperation with Korea League and Adidas since 2020.

The project involves current and former K-League and Korea Women’s Football League players, who offer a one-on-one mentoring program, an annual football camp and a psychology consultation session, and other diverse programs to promising kids.

In September 2024, the company conducted the “Only One Escort Kid” ad campaign in cooperation with K-League.

Starting with a campaign designed to raise the “population cliff” issue and raise interest for the next generations, the company plans to continue diverse next-generation projects.

In 2011, HD Hyundai Oil Bank became Korea’s first large-sized company to establish the “1 Percent Sharing Foundation,” in which executives and staffers contribute 1 percent of their basic pay.

The company has helped neighbors suffering from hardships by carrying out diverse social contribution activities in cooperation with HD Hyundai 1 Percent Sharing Foundation.
