High1 Ski Resort Kicks Off 2024/2025 Season

High1 Ski Resort, owned by Kangwon Land, heralded the start of the 2024/2025 ski season by officially opening the Athena II and III slopes and a snow sled sight on Dec. 6.

High1 Ski Resort, boasting long slopes, quality snow and the natural landscape of Baekdu Mountain, is to open 15 slopes with diverse difficulty degrees until mid-January 2025.

Beginner skiers enjoyed the wide, gentle slope, stretching 4 km, while appreciating the features of winter mountains.

Family visitors carrying children are given the chance to enjoy snow-covered fields sans skiing at Snow World, a winter playground, which is opening from Dec. 23.

Snow World, situating between High1 top and mountain hub, is equipped with rafting sled, ice slide, tube sled and other diverse facilities, becoming a hot spot among all, men and women as well as the young and the old.

If the operation of ski lifts is impossible due to poor weather conditions, visitors can opt to enjoy tube sleds at the snow sleigh site of the Mountain Condo.

High1 Ski Resort is rich in many things to see and enjoy besides skiing and snowboarding.

Winter Wonderland DJ Party appearing DJ Tiz and Skrrvvy, is ready for the Christmas season. Campfires are displayed as year-end thank-you events for customers.

Visitors are given the chance to warm up their bodies while enjoying freebies - roasted sweet potato and marshmallow.

During the season, the sky resort remains open from 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. during daytime and from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. during nighttime. Turn to High1’s website for details.

Jun Joon-ho, head of the Leisure Business Office at Kangwon Land, said, “High1 Ski Resort is ready with excellent snow quality and diverse things to enjoy to skiers waiting for winter impatiently, and I hope you spend a special time at High1, a safe and pleasant ski resort, during the season.”

Meanwhile, some 100 executives and staffers at High1 Ski Resorts held a safety awareness event, praying for the successful operation and no accident during the season on Dec. 9.
