Korea Power Exchange (KPX) said on Nov. 28 that it was launching a service to disclose information on the nation¡¯s total electricity demand through a power information mobile app.
The data on the nation¡¯s total electricity demand divulges not only the total demand for the electricity market, but also out-of-the-market solar power based on KEPCO¡¯s power purchase agreements and home behind-the-meter solar power outputs via statistical method.

The data on the nation¡¯s total power demand can be viewed through the power information mobile app and the KPX website (https://kpx.or.kr).
Kim Hong-keun, vice chairman in charge of the power girds at KPX, said, ¡°Through disclosing of the information of the nation¡¯s total power demand, it is a very significant to see the portion of photovoltaic power outputs out of the nation¡¯s total power generation amounts in real time and grasp solar power volatility¡¯s impact on the power grid in the public perspective.¡±
The KPX expects the disclosure of the information on the nation¡¯s total power demand to raise the transparency of the power market and contribute to ramping up the stability of power supply.
