POSCO INTERNATIONAL Unveils First Brand Identity, ‘Finding Answers on a Global Scale’

POSCO INTERNATIONAL has unveiled its first brand identity (BI), “Finding Answers on a Global Scale,” since becoming an affiliate of POSCO Group.

On Oct. 31, POSCO INTERNATIONAL held a brand showcase at POSCO Tower in Songdo to unveil its new brand identity and way of working.

Through this event, POSCO INTERNATIONAL showed its vision and goals and expressed its ambition to achieve qualitative growth in the global market.

The BI, “Finding Answers on a Global Scale,” reflects POSCO INTERNATIONAL’s vision to lead global growth by leading businesses in various fields, such as steel, energy, food, and new ventures around the world.

It reflects the company’s commitment to listen to important questions from a global perspective, contribute to sustainable growth, and position itself as a company that provides optimal answers.

“POSCO INTERNATIONAL has been constantly changing, fueling its growth and elevating its position,” said Lee Kye-in, CEO of POSCO INTERNATIONAL in the event.

“With the announcement of our BI and way of working, we will overcome challenges we face as a global leader, lead the way through possibilities and innovation and achieve our goals by cooperating based on diversity and inclusiveness.”

Meanwhile, POSCO INTERNATIONAL posted an increase in earnings, posted sales of 8,355.8 billion won in the third quarter, up 3.9 percent year-on-year. Its operating profit climbed by 14.6 percent to 357.2 billion won.

ISCC International Certification for Palm Business

POSCO INTERNATIONAL announced that PT. BIA, its Indonesian palm business subsidiary, has obtained both ISCC EU and ISCC CORISIA international certifications for palm waste oil.

Palm waste oil refers to oil recovered from palm oil mill effluent (POME) generated during a palm oil extraction process.

POSCO INTERNATIONAL has been promoting its palm business based on the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), an international eco-friendly palm oil certification, in line with environmental responsibilities and the international community’s call for sustainability.

With the acquisition of the two additional international certifications, the company will be able to further solidify the growth of its palm waste oil business as an environmentally friendly business.

The International Sustainability and Carbon Certification EU (ISCC EU) is a global certification that ensures the sustainability of biofuel production utilizing biomass in accordance with the European Union’s renewable energy directive.

POSCO INTERNATIONAL believes that its success in earning the ISCC EU international certification will provide the company with an opportunity to diversify its sales channels to expand its business in the EU market.

POSCO INTERNATIONAL has also received a Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (ISCC CORSIA) certification.

This is a certification system that ensures the sustainability of aviation fuel under the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) program to lower greenhouse gas emissions in international aviation.

Cooperation in Feed Ingredient Business and Energy Value Day

POSCO INTERNATIONAL will continue to cooperate with Nonghyup Feed, the largest feed company in Korea, to ensure the stable supply of feed ingredients in Korea.

Through this agreement, the two companies will strengthen cooperation in importing grain into Korea using POSCO INTERNATIONAL’s overseas assets, the long-term supply of feed ingredients, joint development and investment in overseas grain processing and distribution facilities and information exchanges using POSCO INTERNATIONAL’s global network among others.

In the meantime, POSCO INTERNATIONAL held 2024 Energy Business Value Day at the Gwangyang LNG Terminal for two days from Oct. 17 to share its growth roadmap for the energy business with investors.

The event was attended by POSOC International’s officials, and about 50 experts and analysts from institutional investors and from securities firms.

Established in 2023, Energy Business Value Day is an IR event, where POSCO INTERNATIONAL’s key executives introduce the company’s growth plan to investors and securities industry professionals.

Under the main theme of energy business presentations were made on three topics — global LNG market trends and forecasts on the market, E&P core business capabilities, vision and strategy and outlooks on the LNG terminal business and strategies to expand LNG terminal-related businesses.
