Executives and staffers share an insight into future innovation tasks they implemented

GS Caltex hosted the ¡°2nd Deep Transformation Day¡± under the theme ¡°Unlock the Future¡± at GS Caltex headquarters and Yeosu plant on Dec. 30, with GS Caltex President Hur Sae-hong, other executives and staff members in attendance.

GS Caltex has been concentrating its capabilities on deep transformation (DT) to pursue changing the way work is done, business transformation (BX) to improve constitution and profitability of the existing businesses, digital transformation (DX) utilizing data strategically, and green transformation (GX) to actualize the existing carbon reduction businesses and new low-carbon businesses. 

GS Caltex¡¯s ¡°DT Day¡± is a digital transformation activity in which GS Calex executives and staffers, making diverse innovation cases of the field, participate and share each other¡¯s experiences and build up capabilities. 

The latest GS Caltex DT Day was the second rendition following the first one in 2023. GS Calex set up 20-odd booths in the BX, DX and GX areas and shared an insight into future strategies and innovative cases.

In particular, an example was introduced at the DX booth in which members who had their digital capabilities improved through ¡°Digital Academy¡± and ¡°52g¡± under the leadership of the top executive, solved improvement issues using generative AI. 

Executives and staffers designated excellent innovation tasks through direct voting. 

They were: a service sharing field safety records via ChatGPT mobile voice recognition ; a service suggesting new and substitute crude oil by managing and analyzing crude oil information using generative AI technologies; a GenAI-based chatbot service designed to offer for junior employees¡¯ legal contract work and learning, so they can adapt to global business work using GenAI to raise its cooperative companies¡¯ TBM capabilities for their safety work in Yeosu.

The GX booth showcased lower carbon, biofuel, gas, recycle and white bio tasks, being implemented by the Business Council, a companywide cooperation consultation body in which GS Caltex discusses and decides future businesses along with related departments. 
In particular, as to the biofuel segment, GS Caltex introduced timely decision-making models for market analysis, securing raw materials, production of items and their sale, and discussions on trading on the whole value chain of the biofuel business, such as the first commercial sale of CORSIA sustainable aviation fuel, certified by ICAO. 

The event served as an opportunity for executives and staffers to get a better understanding of GS Caltex¡¯s future strategies by introducing R&D tasks, such as CCU business and white bio business. 

Not only GS Caltex¡¯s businesses, but also extermal new industry technologies were introduced, such as AI sound analysis and self-driving robot utilization cases. 

Outside experts¡¯ lectures were given on exploring future collaboration opportunities, working changes and future directions.

GS Caltex President Hur said, ¡°GS Caltex is looking forward to becoming a 100-year-old company through sustainable and profitable growth and Let¡¯s look at greater future possibilities and move toward with an attitude of positive passion to make a better world.¡±


GS Caltex Improves Energy Efficiency of Low-Income Households 

GS Caltex has sponsored a project to improve energy efficiency of low-income households since last year. 

The company placed a notice to recruit 1,900 households as beneficiaries of the housing environment improvement project and launched ¡°Energy Plus Volunteering Activities¡± with executives and staffers participating.

The low-income household energy efficiency improvement project has been subsidized by Korea Energy Foundation. 

GS Caltex became the first private sector company to participate in the project, promising to donate 10 billion won last year, and the company gave patronage to 1,870 households under the project. 

GS Caltex has been recruiting 1,900 beneficiaries this year, and applications can be made through each one¡¯s administrative well-fare centers until a notice on the termination of the project is placed. 

GS Caltex¡¯s worksites in Seoul, Yeosu and other parts of the nation have inaugurated an executives and staffers¡¯ volunteering group, and volunteers have been engaging in activities, such as replacing of windows and installation of insulation products.
