KEPCO KDN held a ceremony to open a rapid charging station for EVs, dubbed ¡°CHA-ON SUPER STATION¡± in the parking lot of KEPCO KDN headquarters in Naju, Jeollanam-do, on Oct. 22. 

¡°CHA-ON¡± is an EV charging platform designed to facilitate carbon neutrality and distribute energy resources. 

It develops and verifies new technologies on vehicle grid integration and EV demand response (EV-DR). ¡°SUPER STATION,¡± a system based on a cloud server, will become a testbed for examining new functions. 

The charging station has two units with 100kW two-channels and one unit with 200kW two channels – capable of charging six EVs at once.
 
Electric reels and a drive-through structure are used to enhance convenience. 





Notables, including former president Kim Jang-hyun of KEPCO KDN, participate in a ceremony to open a rapid charging station for EVs in the parking lot of KEPCO KDN headquarters in Naju, Jeollanam-do, on Oct. 22.


KEPCO KDN former president Kim Jang-hyun said, ¡°CHA-ON SUPER STATION will offer important information for developing and verifying new technologies on smart charging/discharging technologies and future EV charging, and it will be utilized as a channel to promote collaboration among industry, academy and research circles.¡± 

KEPCO KDN will support policies to expand the supply of EVs and invigorate the ecosystem of the EV charging industry, he added. 

KEPCO KDN also opened ¡°KEPCO KDN Eco-Road,¡± a cultural space. 

A gallery and sports facilities opened to the public are available for customers waiting while charging their EVs at the charging station. 


KEPCO KDN Holds ¡®ESG Week¡¯ to Spread Butterfly Effect of ESG Management

KEPCO KDN held the ¡°1st KEPCO KDN ESG Week¡± that took place both off-line in the KEPCO KDN headquarters area and online from Oct. 22 to Oct. 24. 

The 1st KEPCO KDN ESG Week integrated separate events on 12 strategic tasks of ESG management strategies the company had implemented so far, thus raising awareness of ESG and spreading of ESG through environmental campaigns and social contribution activities. 

The ESG Week featured practical programs and lectures, including ¡°recycling music instrument performance,¡± ESG experts¡¯ lecture, and ¡°ecology preservation eco-plogging.¡±

A KEPCO KDN official said, ¡°Executives and staff members¡¯ voluntary participation is a must to put into practice ESG, an essential element of corporate management, in a right fashion, and KEPCO KDN, the nation¡¯s sole energy ICT company, will be a public entity to redouble efforts toward the right transition of eco-friendly and digital energy ICT.¡±
