Korea Midland Power Co. (KOMIPO) held a ceremony to declare ¡°KOMIPO 2040 New Vision,¡± calling for the ¡®future vision of 2040¡¯, at KOMIPO headquarters in Boryeong, Chungcheongnam-do, on Oct. 28.
The new vision ¡°Integrated Energy Company Leading Future Values¡± represents the company¡¯s vision to grow into a global integrated company through the enhancement of strong corporate future values focusing on profitability and efficiency, on top of the future values of eco-friendly energies and future values of the public sector.
The KOMIPO 2040 New Vision was established by reflecting on rapidly changing inside and outside energy industry conditions and collecting views of internal and external expert groups and companywide members.
It calls for enhancing its execution power by reorganizing strategic action regimes, such as eight management and four strategic goals, to realize the new vision and expand diverse execution tasks, such as securing competitive advantages of profit-oriented new energy businesses.
That will be done by reflecting the management tenets of KOMIPO¡¯s 10th president, Lee Young-jo, and the operability of an on-the-spot safety management system focusing on cooperative companies.
The new vision fleshes out on efforts to carry out carbon neutrality systematically by establishing blueprints of diverse projects for carbon-free transition, such as the building of the nation¡¯s biggest blue hydrogen production plant, pumped storage power plants in Bonghwa and Gurae and a roadmap for expanding new and renewable energies focusing on large-scale, off-shore wind power.
In his commemorative speech, President Lee said, ¡°The upcoming energy transition era is an unprecedented period we¡¯ve never experienced, and let¡¯s be united to lead carbon-free energy shift and achieve the 2040 vision of being a global integrated energy company.¡±
The new vision declaration coincided with a ceremony to celebrate the entry of 41st group of freshmen employees, who will play key roles by 2040 - infusing each employee with a sense of pride and responsibility of the times. There were 300-odd executives and staffers in attendance.
KOMIPO Declares ¡®KOMIPO Innovative 50 Tasks¡¯
Korea Midland Power Co. held a ceremony to declare ¡°KOMIPO Innovative 50 Tasks¡± to implement ones tailored to meet people¡¯s expectations at KOMIPO headquarters on Oct. 28.
As to KOMIPO Innovative 50 Tasks, in July, the power company conducted a public contest targeting six areas, such as expanding of new and renewable energies connected with power generation business and digital transformation under the themes: productivity enhancement, reorganizing of a management regime and strengthening of cooperation with the private sector in accordance with the direction of the government¡¯s innovation as well as ¡°happiness accompaniment,¡± innovation challenge and creation of values in accordance with the new CEO¡¯s management tenets.
The civic innovation advisory group in charge of screening innovation tasks called for leading productivity and efficiency enhancement as a public entity amid inside and outside economic hardships and build a cooperative ecosystem with the private sector and implementing innovation to live up to public expectations by having each business complex cooperated with local government bodies.
President Lee Young-jo said, ¡°I extend thanks to people and inside staffers who have participated in the exploration of ideas for KOMIPO¡¯s continuous innovation challenges, and we will do our utmost to implement KOMIPO Innovative 50 Tasks.¡±
New KOMIPO President Calls for Integrated Company to Spearhead Energy Transition
Lee Young-jo, head of the Planning and Management Division at KOMIPO, took office as president of the power company on Sept. 30.
Speaking at an inauguration ceremony at KOMIPO headquarters in Boryeong, new President Lee said, ¡°I will mobilize all my capabilities for KOMIPO¡¯s leap forward based on experiences I have accumulated in the energy sector for the past 37 years.
President Lee adopted the catchphrase ¡°Making KOMIPO Higher Together.¡±
