KEPCO Strike MOU with LS ELECTRIC to Build Collaboration Model
Korea Electric Power Corp. struck an MOU with LS ELECTRIC to build a collaboration model in the power equipment preventive diagnosis sector for the stable operation of power facilities and the acceleration of digital transformation.
They agreed to promote mutual cooperation on the sidelines of BIXPO 2024, which took place at the Kimdaejung Convention Center in Gwangju, on Nov. 6.
Both sides plan to develop a new integrated solution combining SEDA, developed by KEPCO and comprehensive maintenance system (CMS), developed by LS ELECTRIC and enter the Korean and foreign markets through the development.
SEDA is a precautionary system designed to prevent glitches by comprehensively analyzing equipment diagnosis data and equipment information acquired through online preventive diagnosis equipment and examining real-time conditions.
KEPCO has installed the system into the field using related equipment operation big data and AI algorism the power company has accumulated since 2021.
The power company has raised its reliability by making the most of the operational knowhow it has accumulated over several years, and verified the excellence of its performance.
CMS, developed by LS ELECTRIC, is an integrated operational diagnosis system employing AI-enabled fault evaluation algorism and field operation library to detect abnormality of equipment fast through real-time monitoring of power facilities.
Senior Executive Vice President Suh Chul-soo, in charge of power grids at KEPCO, said, ¡°It is significant to not only promote conventional technology exchanges and work cooperation but also build business models through the development of new integrated solutions.¡±
¡°KEPCO will not only develop high-quality solutions through cooperation with the private sector company and bring profit to both sides through market entry, but also do its utmost to play a bigger role through the building of the ecosystem of the preventive diagnosis sector,¡± he said.
