Dongkuk Holdings, Dongkuk Steel and Dongkuk CM, spun from Dongkuk Steel Group, held a ceremony to mark the 70th anniversary of its founding at the Ferrum Tower in Euljiro, downtown Seoul, the group’s headquarters on July 5, two days ahead of the anniversary day.
Dongkuk Holdings, Dongkuk Steel and Dongkuk CM celebrate the anniversary day on July 7, inheriting the spirit of Dongkuk Steel, the mother of the group, currently Dongkuk Holdings.
The anniversary event, starting with viewing of anniversary videos, took place with a commemorative speech by Chairman Chang Sae-joo of Dongkuk Steel Group and the awarding of long-serving prizes.
In his speech, Chairman Chang said, “A 70-year history is not a time given naturally, so I remember the time in which my grandfather took care of room and board at the plant in Dangsan-dong and prepared meals for workers.”
“Numerous memories, such as days of preparing the execution of management tenets after starting his career as a freshman employee with the Planning Department, the “oil shock,” the second founding and the introducing of direct current and the acquisition of Union Steel pass in my mind,” he recalled.
Chairman Chang said this year marks the 70th anniversary and the first year of inaugurating a holding company regime, and each company, enhancing expertise in an independent management environment, will have to recognize common values — Dongkuk — always and promote mutual communication and harmony.
“I’m sure that the future of Dongkuk Steel Group will be shined brighter than the past 70 years if you who have always demonstrated capabilities beyond expectations even in a crisis join forces.”
He asked for executives and staff members to change the upcoming crisis into opportunities for a new take-off by demonstrating their “Dongkuk’s DNA.”
Dongkuk Steel Group released the documentary, titled “Hot Run” in celebration of the 70th anniversary at the YouTube channel.
The video sheds new light on the past and the present in which senior executives and staff members have strived for and the future they will make.
The business group opened “Dongkuk Steel Group Web History Museum” to which each company’s website has an access.
On the same day, Dongkuk Steel Group carried out volunteering activities celebrating the anniversary.
Executives and staff members at the group’s headquarters and worksites in Incheon, Pohang, Dangjin and Busan conducted outside experience activities in connection with regional children’ centers and welfare centers.
Dongkuk CM Showcases New Color Stee Plates at ‘Metal Trend 2024-2025’
Dongkuk CM of Dongkuk Steel unveils new color plates at “Metal Trend 2024-2025” at Ferrum Tower on Sept. 6. Dongkuk CM has evolved the “Design Trend and New Product Release Session” the company hosted before it was split into “Metal Trend.”
The company set the theme of the latest event as “& the NEW ERA.”
It contained thoughts on eco-friendly architecture amid social trends, such as environment pollution and carbon neutrality as well as home appliance with psychological stability amid changes such as virus wars.
The premium architecture color plate brand “Luxteel” designated the trend keyword “NEXT,” meaning color steel plates for next generations.
Dongkuk CM suggested Luxteel as eco-friendly architectural materials under three themes “Natural,” “Modern” and “Gate,” focusing on the trend keywords.
Under the theme "Natural," Dongkuk CM introduced products with natural and convenient settings, such as leaves, shades of light and natural particles.
Under the theme "Modern," the company showcased products made with feelings and textures of stones and corrosive copper while under the theme "Gate," Dongkuk CM proposed an array of products with diverse colors and patterns that can be used for elevator doors, car storage doors and fire doors.
