LS Group held the 2024 LS Future Day, an opportunity to pledge the group¡¯s future growth to comply with an AI era, at LS Tower in Anyang, Gyeonggi-do, on Sept. 27.
The 2024 LS Future Day marks the third time since the LS T-Fair.
The event, made its debut in 2004 and has been expanded to cover existing business areas and future business segments.
The step aims to further accelerate the so-called ambidextrous management LS Chairman Koo Ja-eun has implemented since his inauguration.
The event was attended by about 200 executives and staffers of the group and its subsidiaries, including LS Chairman Koo, CEOs, COOs, and CTOs. Participants took time to share idea proposals of new businesses and top R&D outcomes.
Twenty-one selected projects proposed by each company competed in the contest.
They included customer experience innovation via generative AI in three big segments — new business, technology and innovation — and building EV charging stations connected with ESS using ultra-capacity chargers.
The executives and staffers of the outstanding winning cases have been selected as ¡°LS Futurists¡± and given an opportunity to participate at CES 2025, the world¡¯s biggest international electronic products fair, along with LS Chairman Koo and have a first-hand experience of the latest technology trends.
LS Chairman Koo, participating as mentor of the new business idea sector, listens to a remark by a lecturer at the LS Future Day.
In his speech, Chairman Koo said, ¡°Since the core infrastructure of the AI industry is the power industry, it will be another opportunity for our LS, and all executives and staffers have to devote themselves to stepping up work innovation using AI to accomplish our goal ¡°Vision 2030.¡±
Chairman Koo urged his executives and staffers to not only improve work methods by employing like ¡°LS GPT¡± and step up cooperative partnership with stakeholders but also develop differentiating product solutions and services with competitive differentiation.
AI exerts, including Prof. Choi Jae-sik of KAIST, Kim Deok-jin, head of IT Communication Research Institute, Prof. Kim Deok-joong of Sookmyung Women¡¯s University, and Prof. Kim Sang-kyun of Kyunghee University were invited to the event. Participants were given an opportunity to look at AI applications.
The event had a lecture, titled with ¡°Corporate Work Methods of the AI Era and Core Capabilities.¡±
During the event, LS Group set up a T-shirt printing booth in which their own T-shirts were made by using generative AI, an opportunity to have a good reception from the executives and staffers.
LS Group plans to regularize LS Future Day between September and October every year and make it a festival with executives and staffers in attendance.
