Samsung Electronics is to release Galaxy S24 FE (Fan Edition) in Korea on Nov. 1.

The upcoming edition employs all AI functions available from Galaxy S24, but its release has been advanced as a semi-premium smartphone with lower price tags, a move designed to spearhead the AI phone market.

Galaxy FE is a product category, employing features almost equivalent to the flagship Galaxy S, but it boasts a reasonable price tag - lower than 1 million won.

More people can enjoy the Galaxy S24 series’ flagship innovations, including AI-enhanced photography, cutting-edge performance and more Galaxy AI features.

Samsung Electronics on Sept. 27 unveiled the Galaxy S24 FE, the latest addition to the Galaxy AI1 ecosystem that delivers premium mobile experiences to more users.

Powered by the AI-based ProVisual Engine and Galaxy AI’s Photo Assist features, Galaxy S24 FE showcases an enhanced camera setup that empowers users to be more creative.

It’s the perfect device for gaming on the go with a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, a long-lasting 4,700mAh battery and a powerful Exynos 2400 series chipset.

The Galaxy S24 FE offers premium Galaxy AI tools and ecosystem connectivity to enhance communication, productivity and creativity — all housed in an iconic design and protected by robust Samsung Knox security.

Galaxy S24 FE makes it easy for anyone to shoot stunning photos and videos. Its premium camera setup features a 50MP wide lens and 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom — both supported by optical image stabilization (OIS) — plus a 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 10MP selfie camera.

The camera system’s capabilities are further elevated by Samsung’s dynamic ProVisual Engine, an AI-driven camera engine that takes visual quality to incredible heights.

Making its debut in the FE series, ProVisual Engine features vastly improved technology that leverages advanced AI algorithms to deliver breathtaking detail and remarkably subtle textures.

Samsung Electronics, Financial Groups Teams Up to Offer Loans to SMEs for Energy Transition

Samsung Electronics has decided to support loans for low-carbon transition investments SMEs will make.

The step, depositing 1 trillion won its financial partners, is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by Korean large- and small- companies.

Financial Supervisory Service Gov. Lee Bok-hyun, Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Han Jong-hee, and chairmen of five of the top financial groups struck an MOU on supporting SMEs’ low-carbon transition investments to help them cope with climate change.

An event took place at the Korea Federation of Banks in Jung-gu, Seoul, on Sept. 24. The chairmen are NongHyup Financial Group Chairman Lee Suk-joon, Hana Financial Group Chairman Ham Young-joo, KB Financial Group Chairman Yang Jong-hee, Shinhan Financial Group Chairman Jin Ok-dong and Woori Financial Group Chairman Yim Jong-ryong.

The deal involves the provision of extending a combined 2 trillion won in low-interest loans to cooperative SMEs. It calls for Samsung Electronics to deposit 1 trillion won in a fund to five commercial banks. In return, the five banks will extend loans on investments designed to cope with climate change by securing a combined 1 trillion won on their own.

If SMEs invest in low-carbon reduction activities and meet their targets, according to the local green taxonomy, banks will offer them lower interest rates - a maximum of 2 percent points lower - on top of the existing prime rates, which range from 0.5 percentage points to 1.7 percentage points.

Samsung Electronics’ cooperative companies will be given a financial resource for additional interest reductions thanks to the financial contribution by Samsung Electronics. Each SME will be able to receive a maximum of 2 billion won in loans without interest.

The FSS said, “If each SME receives 2 billion won in loans, a some 1,000 SMEs will be entitled to receive support. It is a model designed to cope with climate change through cooperation between large- and small-sized companies, and between industry and the financial sector.”

The FSS said, under the program, Korean SMEs will save 65 billion won in interest costs annually and see their greenhouse emissions reduced an estimated 850,000 tons annually.

If the European Union introduces the carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM) in 2026, each SME is predicted to save about 900 billion won in carbon emission costs annually. CBAM calls on companies across the supply chain to reduce carbon emissions, including vendors of international companies.
